“Fantastic week at Bimini Big Game Club!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

My wife and I spent a wonderful week at the Big Game Club. The staff and general manager Michael couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We were there during Hurricane Sandy and were well taken care of. The staff checked on us when the power went out and made sure we had everything we needed. We had a cottage by the water -- comfortable bed and a small kitchen with a microwave and refrigerator. There were no dishes or utensils, but the friendliness of everyone there made up for it. They moved us to a higher room (the penthouse suite) because they were worried about flooding. What a great place to weather the storm.
Pastor James and his wife Lisa are permanent residents and befriended us immediately. They are a warm, loving couple who are respected by everyone on this small island. They loaned us their fishing gear so we got to fish every day from the marina.
If you want warm hospitality, beautiful private beaches, and great inexpensive restaurant food, this is the place to be. We talked to boat owners, from 35 foot sport fishers to 130 yacht, before and after the storm. They all said the same thing, "this is a great marina and resort".

Room Tip: The cottages right by the marina were the best location, but the kitchen was not equipped with dishe...

“Nice improvements”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012 via mobile

My last stay here was in October of 2004. The place has been totally re done. Large spacious rooms that are well appointed, nice balcony views and pleasant staff. On site restaurant is one of the better choices on the island.

“Bimini Big Game Club”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

The staff was top notch and VERY friendly and helpful. They answered any and all of my questions before I arrived about the transportation to the resort (from Bimini airport to North Bimini you take a bus that awaits you-which takes you to the ferry. $7 total pp to Big Game. Drops you off in front of lobby!)
We stayed 9/14-9/21/2012. It was very quiet and seemingly had the place to ourselves! No problem finding a spot by the pool!!! It was LOVELY!! Big John's Bar had a live band Friday and Saturday night. It was a very nice, newly renovated and lively place to go. Wish we were adventurous enough to go out in the dark the first night! But we did on Saturday-and sat out on the big deck for some drinks and food.
Lots of local, small grocery stores to buy staples-we stayed in a cottage at Big Game which had 2 queen size beds, a wet bar with microwave and refrigerator. I brought a small hot plate along with some cooking supplies and spices-which worked out great when we bought some lobster tails from a local fisherman- a dozen lobster tails for $45!!! One day we cooked burgers out on the grill! That with the help of a couple baked potatoes we sat at our picnic table overlooking the marina and had wonderful, relaxing evenings!
The restaurant was very good, but a little pricey...nothing on the menu for just a quick, casual meal. Bring along breakfast bars or pop tarts from home for a quick breakfast! Big Game does have complimentary coffee and fruit in the morning. Apples and Oranges were a great surprise!
Love Bimini and the Big Game Club! The cottage was the only place I can imagine staying!! Views of the beautiful water and boats right from our veranda made our vacation one to remember!

“The Big Blow!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

We happened to have scheduled our weekend at the same time Tropical Storm Isaac decided to visit! ... We had arranged to fly from Fort Lauderdale by sea plane (35 minutes! on Tropic Ocean Airways -- Terrific!!!) ... We stayed in a second floor room, which was very clean, attractive and roomy. I loved the stone - floored shower and the concrete floors. The bed was especially comfy. Our A/C didn't have a whole lot oomph, so we were grateful it wasn't sunny and that there was a steady breeze! ... The staff was exceptionally friendly and accomodating. We too wished that breakfast was served earlier (10am on the "off season") .... But since we were riding out the storm there, we just waited for them to open -- Not much else to do in the way of water sports (everything was closed due to the storm). The bakery across the street was open and we enjoyed some cookies and cake! ... Our 2 day trip became a 4 day trip, as the sea plane had to wait for the winds to subside enough to pick us up. There is now a dock built at the resort, where the plane landed for us ... Couldn't not have been easier!!! ... Looking forward to the next time we go over -- for the diving and fishing! ... This trip was still relaxing and memorable due to the Big Blow aka Tropical Storm Isaac!

“Scuba diving at the Big Game Club.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

This was our second time to stay at the Big Game Club (week of Aug 19th) and dive the local reefs & wrecks.

Stayed on the second floor this time which was an improvement especially if you like to sit on the deck in the evening. Less mosquitos and good place to set your wetsuit & BC out to dry. Also, the concrete floor is not cold like on the first floor.

Was only disappointed with the change made for breakfast starting time of 10AM. (was told the restaurant opens later during the off season)

With the dive boat leaving at 8:30AM you will go hungry all morning unless you prepare the day before. Just outside the Club entrance to the left is a local bakery where you can buy something for breakfast. Also, you can get free coffee and fruit in the lobby on the way to the boat.

The diving was great with water temperatures of 87 degrees (F) and visibility up to about 100'. The marine life around the reefs and the Road to Atlantis was colorful and abundant. Saw some very large Moray Eels and a few sharks around 5 to 7 feet long. If you have an underwater dive camera this is a good place to get some great photos.

Room service at the club is good with our room clean and ready when we returned from the morning diving. The beds were comfortable and the room AC will freeze you out if you turn it down to far!

The club’s restaurant was great. The food is good and reasonably priced. You probably won’t find anything better on the Island.

In the afternoon you can relax by the pool or just walk about 150' to the other side of the island and snorkel off from a beautiful sandy beach. (take some water or beer with you)

Overall, this is one of the better spots to scuba dive and we plan on visiting the Big Game Club again next year to dive and relax.

Room Tip: Either 1st or 2nd floor rooms overlooking the pool are the best!
