“Good food and room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2014 via mobile

Stayed at Plockton Inn for two nights. Room in house over the road. We had an attic room - very spacious but ensuite facilities - especially the shower and WC had to be negotiated with care. Limited headroom. Overall a very good room though.
Evening meal was very good. Once in the small restaurant once on the bar - more atmosphere in the latter, Nice menu with specials.
Breakfast straightforward - the hot food tasted freshly cooked.
Plockton is a beautiful location and well worth the visit.

We were staying in Balmacar and was recommended the Plockton Inn by our hosts. Really busy and popular Inn. Very good quality food, word of warning in that the soup is hot hot hot...in heat..burnt my mouth on first spoonful and had to wait over 15 minutes to start eating it...me and my husband have still been wondering how on earth they can get it that hot! The bowl was steaming. But apart from that I would still encourage anyone to make a visit..

We stayed here for two nights, group of six of us walking Cuillins on Skye.
Really helpful staff, Evening meals were dominated by local fish, fantastic Moules, Langoustine , Sole etc. Good atmosphere in the bar. Rooms are average and showers not first rate but we would recommend this hotel for location (Plockton is lovely) , food and service.

We spent three nights at this superb small hotel. I concur with many recent reviews about the friendliness and attentiveness of all staff (manager, table servers, bar staff), the sea-food is to die for, the daily specials (5 or 6 items per course) additional to a a great fixed menu are superb and imaginative, the table service is prompt and all plates pre heated. Good wines at reasonable prices.
Breakfasts too are great - specially the scrambled egg with home smoked salmon.
We had dog so we were given a room close to a rear outside door opening to a green area and the car park.
Any negatives? there were occasional wiffs from the en suite plumbing and the kitchen smells/aroma wafted into the room... small issues.
Would we go back? - in a heart beat and we intend to!

Room Tip: The hotel is dog friendly to well behaved dogs so tell them in advance so a dog suitable room can be...

Spent three nights at the Plockton Inn and enjoyed every minute. The staff were super friendly and the food in the restaurant was excellent. We loved our stay there and will remember it as a great example of Scottish hospitality.

Cannot fault the location the food or the service from the staff which was very good. The room however which was in the main part of the hotel was not as we had hoped, the bathroom was small, a sink that was so small you could hardly get your hands in it,a shower that was weak with little power and the bedroom just felt tired.
At £104 a night B & B we were hoping for better, stayed two nights and left feeling that it was not as good as it should have been.

Room Tip: Dont choose room 7 in the main hotel

We stayed two nights in a pleasant twin room. Be sure to ask if you want an actual bath not just shower. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was excellent (as was the breakfast). Local seafood a speciality. We would definitely stay again.
