“Great find, well worth a stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

With a colleague visited for a three day writing retreat, Cherry and Gordon could not have been more hospitable and attentive. Rooms were well appointed and comfortable, the food served and breakfast and dinner was of a very high standard and a special mention must go to an excellent wine list which should cover all tastes too. There were all the little additions too, marinated olives and honeyed and herbed nuts that were served with drinks, the exquisite homemade shortbread with coffee during the day and the truffles that were served with after dinner coffee made all the difference.

Had a 3 day break recently, following the reviews on this site. Myself and my wife were warmly welcomed on our arrival by the lady of the house, Cherry, and allocated a well appointed traditional room, the Rowen.
Overall very clean and welcoming. The weather was not too good, but that did not detract from the experience which was most positive. Full marks for the room, and the food each evening,
( created by Gordon the chef proprietor who is very talented) which was interesting and very filling. Breakfasts are also superb.
The venue is great if you want peace and quiet. In fact my only concern was that perhaps it was too quiet in the dinning room. We ended up whispering and there was only one other couple having dinner with us. The dinning room is superb, but perhaps needs a little more atmosphere ??. Not so much a criticism, more an observation !. Overall a great stay and worth the money.

We really enjoyed our stay at Creagan House, it was like stepping back in time, good old fashioned hospitality at its best, it almost feels like you are staying with friends. The owners have thought of everything and provide a quality product. We also enjoyed the food, dinner and breakfast were both excellent. If you want to get away from it all this is a good choice.

I love this house! We stayed here only once but have already made arrangements for return visits. I take small groups around Scotland is this is exactly what we look for in accommodation. Cherry and Gordon really know their stuff and will charm and delight you! The bedrooms are war, inviting and comfortable and the rest of the house is beautifully decorated. My favorite thing to see as we pulled in the drive was Gordon through the kitchen window working his culinary wizardry. Wonderful accommodation, hosts and food....how can you go wrong?

Room Tip: Each room is different and has its own unique charm.

Our second stay at Creagan House. Cherry provides excellent service & a very warm welcome while Gordon produces 1st class food from the kitchen. They are rightly very proud of their wee hotel, the rooms are comfortable & spotless & Gordon takes great pride in using the best quality local ingredients in the kitchen.

We have been visitors to Creagan for almost 20 years, having chosen it at first because they welcome dogs. We have broken our rule (of not going back to the same place twice) many times since that initial visit because we like it so much. It is in a lovely spot; the house and the rooms are comfortable and Cherry is very welcoming. Gordon’s food is first class: an emphasis on good local produce, always served with an interesting twist. Service is second to none.

This is a very special place to stay.
