“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2012

From the moment we arrived to the time we departed this fantastic 4* B&B Maines North Lodge, we were truly spoilt.
Dave & Chris are amazing owners/hosts and do their utmost to make sure everything from the warm welcome, extremely comfortable room with a beautiful view (driftwood room),lovely breakfasts and exploring advice was spot on...well they succeeded with flying colours!
We had a wonderful stay and can't wait to return. Hopefully, we will have chance to enjoy your evening home cooked meals next time too!
Thank-you so very much Dave & Chris.x

Room Tip: Driftwood Room, large room with seating area plus delightful views.

I stayed here for 2 nights, the service was excellent. David and Chris Dixon were so helpful and attentive, I couldn't have expected anymore. The whole place was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, and plenty of it.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2010

I stayed here during a cycling trip from Edinburgh to Newcastle. The proprietor (Dave) couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating. He even let us put our bikes in his garden shed so they wouldn't get wet overnight.

Upon our arrival (considering we had just cycled 50 miles over rather large hills) Dave was fussing to show us around, but once he realised all we wanted was a bath and a nap before dinner, he just vanished and let us get settled. He made us a pot of tea as well. He was tremendous.

The rooms were spotless and the bathrooms luxurious. I can't describe decoration, as I'm a man, but the rooms were large and comfortable. The bed was really comfortable (having said that, I could have slept on a bed of nails that night!).

We went out for evening meal and Dave booked a taxi for us, recommended 3-4 places to eat. It cost £5 for the taxi to a lovely restaurant.

In the morning, breakfast was exceptional. Fresh fruit (Cut strawberries, Blueberries, Banana, Pineapple) , cereals, all freshly prepared. Then locally sourced Scottish breakfast (Bacon Sausage Eggs Black Pudding Beans etc) or you could choose from 2 alternatives (Craster Kippers or smoked Mackerel).

It's more expensive than normal B&B's but you get what you pay for, and that little extra showed everywhere during our stay.
