My husband and I stayed at Ferniehurst for 2 nights.
the room on the ground floor was a very small double, it was very small. The bed was comfortable. Ferniehurst lacks attention to detail and the decor is dated. The exterior of the house in particular is untidy and shabby. The bedroom was very clean, the communal lounge and dining room less so. We have stayed in places which charge the same amount, £60, and have a 4 star visit Scotland rating so the standard is much higher. I didnt see any rating certificate at Ferneihiurst.
On the plus side the situation of the house is lovely, in it's own grounds with lots of outside space to relax in. A tranquil spot. It is perfect for dogs as there isnt any road or traffic anywhere nearby, dogs are free to roam and are welcomed by Christine the owner and her two lovely whippets. Christine is very welcoming and a lovely hostess and you are made to feel at home.
Highlight was having breakfast whilst watching the birds at the birdfeeders.
