This is a really good B&B in a great position on the wall, I was made very welcome by Brian and Diane and I couldn't fault the property which was immaculate. Brian gave me a lift to the pub for an evening meal which was also very good. The Roman Army museum is just across the road and worth a visit, you can also buy a ticket that gives you entry to Vindolanda at a discount if you plan to do both. Brian cooked an excellent breakfast and supplied a packed lunch which was very convenient. Altogether an excellent stay.

Very pleasant, spacious en-suite room. Good facilities. Good service. Very recommendable for an overnight stay while hiking the Pennine Way or Hadrian's Wall. It is almost dead on trail. Landlady offered to bring me to and collect me from the local pub in Greenhead by car. An offer I kindly accepted after a weary 20 m. days of walking. And an early breakfast (07.00) was no problem at all. Whished there were more B&B ‘s and hotels serving long distance walkers who do this.

This B&B is a great starting point for walking the best (and toughest!) section of Hadrian's Wall. It's also located right across from the Roman Army Museum which is well worth a visit. Our host, Diane, is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. She helped us plan our walk and even lended us a map. And when we returned to the B&B all sun-burnt and she heard we didn't have any after-sun she let us have some of her own. Our room looked like something from a magazine, absolutely spotless, and Diane is an excellent cook.

I would heartily recommend this B&B to anyone who wants to walk (part of) the Wall.

Ideally situated for walking the wall and opposite the Roman Army Museum. Brian & Diane made us really welcome. The bedroom was lovely and ensuite immaculate. You can see they take pride in their home. There was a dry room to put our boots in. Breakfast was fantastic and able to watch all the garden birds including a woodpecker whilst we ate. Diane drove us down to the Greenhead Hotel in the evening and later she & Brian picked us up and took us on a tour about to a couple of the local pubs. We thoroughly recommend this B&B

My husband spent a night here when unable to extend our stay at The Hill on the Wall in Gilsland, and did not feel that Walltown was in the same category at all (although it was the same price!). While the acommodation was clean, the bed was not particularly comfortable and the room had a floral scent which we did not enjoy.

We booked this B&B as our first holiday away together. The B&B made the holiday even more perfect than it already was!

Dianne made us very welcome from the offset and made the holiday very easy and comfortable.

We had three large dogs with us, Dianne provided accommodation for them with kennels which were secure well built kennels. They are attached to the garage and made from half stone and half metal mesh which made then sheltered from the breeze. Well I say breeze, really is was gale force winds! The kennel fitted two labradors and a Malinois easily and they were cosy, dry and more than happy with their housing!
The bedroom was lovely and clean and spacious. It had a lovely view over the garden and the surrounding hills with a lovely large window to sit in and watch the rain with a cup of tea!! The ensuite was lovely and clean and fresh. The shower was quite tempermental but lovely after a long day walking!

We were able to walk stright from the B&B front door and ended up getting very wet and muddy on the first day. The accommodation has a dry room to put wet boots and coats and Dianne even offered to wash our clothes if we wanted.

The whole accommodation was immaculately clean and Dianne made sure the room was cleaned each day. As we were walking each day we didn't want to carry valuables with us. I had no problem leaving valuables in the room as Dianne is very trust worthy.
She was brilliant at recommending places to eat and places to visit.

This really was the best holiday I've had, the accommodation was comfortable and the host was so welcoming. She made it very easy for us to come and go and even let us leave the dogs in the kennel whilst we went sightseeing!

We are already arranging a second visit here as it was so perfect and I can not wait to return.

A welcome place pretty much on the Hadrian's Wall trail after a long day's walk ending in a steep climb. Friendly hosts and a breakfast room where we were treated to watching woodpeckers on the bird feeder.

We ate at the Greenhead Hotel - about half a mile down a steep hill, but Diane said to ring when we were finished and a lift duly arrived. The food was good.

The B&B is situated right opposite the Roman Army Museum which we were told was well worth a visit, although sadly we didn't have time to explore it.

My only grumble was a squeaky bed.
