“Good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel just outside Santillana. The room was nice with a good view. Breakfast was not great, but overall it was good value for money. The pool is a good thing if you are traveling with children, but it could have a few parasols in the mid-day heat.

The hotel offers basic, clean accomodation, which represents fair value for money. The decor is rather dated in the public rooms and the hotel rooms. The breakfast was very basic, we didn't bother on our second morning.
A short walk to the touristy town of santilliana del mar, it is well worth going to the Cave of El Castillo.

Lots of polished wood with a very attractive entrance hall. The rooms are quite basic but done with some style using quality original fixtures and fittings. Santillana is such a pretty village and the hotel is only 5 minutes walk away from the centre with ample parking. The pool was a bit chilly even in August.
Staff are very friendly but breakfast was a bit dull and, given the season, there should have been more fresh fruit on offer. Quite good value. Note that it only offers b'fast but not an issue as Santillana has plenty of options.

We stayed here with a child for several nights during a cold spell in July. They offered us an extra cot for no extra charge and we still had plenty of space left in the room. The pool would have been usable in spite of the cold as it was heated, but the chilly wind made that option not too attractive. The rooms are traditional, extremely clean - as is the bathroom -- and have nice wooden frames and shutters. The hotel itself is quite warm with a helpful staff and a decent breakfast, particularly for the good prices they ask for the room.
Most people seem to pass through and stay for a night or two, but we made it a base to explore the region and from that perspective it was quite a good choice location wise to be close to a busy little tourist-town with good connections to Comillas (where accommodation is more expensive) and the caves at Altamira and del Castillo in Puente Viesgo.

Nice basic hotel which is within walking distance of the beautiful village, free car parking.
Staff friendly. Was surprised to find no evening dinner service but plently of good eating within walking distence. Breakfast was basic no choice some fresh fruit would have been appreciated

Located just on the edge of this prettiest of villages (it's 5 mins walk to village centre and all the restaurants), this is a peaceful, good value, tastefully furnished small hotel. It has plenty parking space, pleasant garden area with a reasonable sized pool. Each bedroom is different – polished wooden flooring, roomy, attractive old shutters etc. No ceiling fan or AC but you would only need these in height of summer I think. We took our own plug-in mozzy repellent plugs. Very friendly staff. We had breakfast there (reasonably priced at 5 euros) and it was fine.
