“Loved it!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2014

We really loved this hotel, it was so beautifully restored and such a wonderful place to stay. The room was very comfortable and clean, the person who took care of it did a great job. The highlight was breakfast on the terrace in the back. The fresh squeezed orange juice was the best I have ever had, and the bread and fresh fruit was delightful. The staff went above and beyond to take care of my husband at meal times, as he has a gluten allergy. They had special bread for him that he said was delish. The location in the town of Soller was perfect, and I have to say the most wonderful place I have ever had the good fortune to travel to. We will definitely be back :)

Thank you very much for your very nice comments!! Yes, i agree, Sóller is a wonderful place (for me it is the best :-) ) The oranges that we serve are so good because they are from Sóller, and the micro-climate here produces some of the best oranges in the world. Thank you again for your nice words!

But it didn't matter, we had a great time. Tony , the owner was very helpful before we arrived with advice on travel from the airport, the room, No.2, was clean, with a bath and overlooked the town square with it's cafes full of friendly locals and St.Bartholomew's church. Staff were all friendly and whilst you're obviously not going to get a real breakfast anywhere south of Brighton what was on offer was more than adequate, evening meals excellent with good local wines on offer, the only disappointment with the food was that Cod was the fish offering, us northerners get that all the time, something a bit more exotic would have been nice.
We had a very nice walk through the olive groves to the coast on the sunny day but when it rains all you have to do is walk across the square and jump on the wonderful old electric train and go into Palma or even closer to the hotel is the tram which takes you down to the coast. Really brave people could walk a little further and get on one of the very cheap local buses and tour round the island, the only drawback to this is the drivers seem to think they are F.Alonso. Go, you will not be disappointed

Room Tip: How would I know, I only tried one room

We stayed for 10 days in room 1 overlooking the central square, on a mountain walking holiday.
Superb stay. Beds were comfy. Rooms were cleaned well. Breakfasts should keep most people happy…. we did not need to eat until we had come off the mountain in early evening. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had two excellent evening meals.
The location was perfect amongst a myriad of paths, with access to local buses, train and tram. Two fab museums/art galleries in Soller and also Valldemossa not far away.

Room Tip: The central square has its busy moments with children! , pensioners!, and sweeper-uppers ( wh...

We discovered Soller in 2012 and have had two holidays in villas in this region and just fallen in love with how life trots along and takes you away from busy everyday things.

We had no idea what to pack and thought we would try a small hotel in the square as it was the centre of the action usually and it would be nice to see the town wake up and go to sleep.

The hotel was in a great location, as previous comments have said. It is very traditional in decor and the rooms were very good - had all we needed, and the beds were very comfy and we were at the top of the hotel so no balcony but we could open the doors and watch the world go by or close them and hear nothing. Ok.... you have to walk up flights of stairs but it is ok - if there was a lift Id probably use the stairs anyway. If you have any physical problems you should really highlight this when you book - the owner is very accommodating and answers emails quickly as people have previously said.

The breakfast was good - yes there are lots of eggs but Majorca produces its own eggs... when in Rome and all that!

The evening meals were really good - although the menu didnt change over the time we were there, we tried most things. The soup is the best we have ever had. We benefitted from the discounts for repeat bookings - really good idea.

We did take our own mini kettle and tea and coffee - just a tip really - as it is nice to have a cup of tea when you wake up. Also, whilst we didnt really have the tv on as we were out and about, but English channels would be good.

Otherwise - we will be regular users. We had thought about treating ourselves to the posh hotel in Port Soller but the resort is so quiet that the place to be for an autumn break is definitely the town and Hotel La Vila is perfectly placed for that.

See you soon.

Sally and Peter

Room Tip: Ask Tony about your needs - if you want it to be really quiet, although we were fine at the front at...

I wanted a simple clean comfortable room in the town centre. I got all of that plus friendly staff and great food. The room had heating / aircon which worked silently and effectively. Excellent value for money.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front offer a great view over the lively town square but could be noisy on festival day...

I greatly enjoyed a week staying in this delightful 'art nouveau' hotel in the central square. My room overlooked the square and the fine church of Sant Bartomeu. Food and service were excellent. Soller is a great centre for walking in the Tramuntana, even in very rainy November weather! Winter buses were quite frequent and reliable and the vintage train and tram should not be missed.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the garden would be quieter but less exciting than those overlooking the square, a...

We stayed a group of 5 for 5 nights in the appartment belonging to the hotel. We had a wonderful stay going for daily hikes around the mountains starting on the square right outside the hotel. We much appreciated the little balcony overlooking the square for our afternoon cava and the breakfast with many options, real coffee and always fresh orangejuice. Only one mirror in the appartment was too little for all of us otherwise a perfect stay! Will be back!
