“Great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

We had a great week. Room had a terrific view. Although we did not have a terrace, which would have been lovely, they did have public terraces from which you could view the lovely sunset out over the enclosed bay. Just so peaceful! The breakfasts had a wide choice-there must have been something for everyone- and were of a very high standard. We loved eating outside. Staff were very friendly and efficient.

Room Tip: Try to get a room at the front with a terrace.

We have just got back from a weeks stay at this hotel and it was fantastic. We stayed in a garden terrace room and moved later in the week to a sea view terrace room. We booked late so the hotel had limited availability hence the move. The sea view room had great views but steps leading down to the terrace which wasn't good for our toddler so we had to block off access to the terrace which was a shame although I think that there are some sea view terrace rooms with no steps down to it so do check this when booking if its an issue for you. Anyhow the garden terrace worked better for us as there were no steps. Darker but better for our toddlers lunch time sleep. Didn't get much sun on the garden terrace but we liked that.

The rooms and whole hotel were so clean. The windows looked like they were open they were so clean! The rooms were cleaned every morning and turndown service in the evening which was great for taking away all the dirty nappies!

Food was absolutely delicious. Breakfast was fresh and wholesome with great choice for me and my husband and our little girl who particularly liked the fresh strawberries and fruit every morn! Best breakfast choice I have ever had.

Me and my husband ordered the same dish in the bistro 3 times as we liked it so much. Other restaurants in the area were just ok and so we preferred to eat at the hotel where every night it was superb. Kids menu very good as well our daughter gobbled down fish most nights as it was so nicely cooked at home she just spits it out!

One negative the water in the indoor pool was cold and so cldnt bear to get in or use the jacuzzi.

Great location best views of the bay as the hotel looks right out to sea.

This hotel meets all the standards you would expect and it even goes a little further. The extra bits that really put a smile on my face were:
Complimentary beer and water in fridge on arrival which was very much needed after our plane was delayed by 5 hours!
Natural toiletries in bathroom which smelt really good
DVD library which huge choice which my daughter and husband loved
Flawless service when switching rooms we even got a note in morn to remind us and next room quickly made up as soon as the guests had checked out.
Library of books to choose from
Complimentary welcome drink vouchers
The hotel booked our airport transfers and were very helpful on queries prior to arrival
Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make our holiday special, especially the waitressing staff
The kid areas worked really well
I could go on and on! In summary would definitely recommend this hotel and really would like to return soon! Loved it so much every hotel should be run like this one and if only they could run an airline as well then our whole holiday would have been perfect!!!!! Thank you Esplendido.

We took 38 Friends to Esplendido Hotel to celebrate my birthday. I can not fault the help and service we received from Philippe the manager. All of us had the time of our lives. The food at the hotel is good, the location perfect and arriving by tram was magical.
The feel of the hotel is stylish and cool.

Room Tip: Any seaview is great but Room 501 0r 502 are fab

Six 40/50 year old women shared 2 sea view rooms with balconies. I could not fault our stay. Staff very efficient and friendly. The food in the restaurants was superb. The breakfast was of a very good quality and lots of choice - take it on the upstairs terrace. The view stunning from our room and from the terraces with two good pools. The rooms spacious, very clean and a good selection of toiletries etc. We didn't try the spa or indoor pool as the weather was so superb in mid September. Will be going back next year and would highly recommend to anyone.

Room Tip: Ask for a seaview room with balcony - more expensive but well worth it.

September 2012 stayed at the Esplendido for 4 nights for the third year running. Standards were as good as ever from the quality of our room to breakfast, lunch by the pool, dinner and drinks in the bar. The views are stunning and location wonderful.

The age group staying at the hotel was a bit more mixed than in previous years which we thought was a good thing. Staff can't do enough for you and they even arranged a projector to show the Andy Murray US Open match on a large screen (which didn't finish until 3.15 am).

We were a little disappointed not to get an upgrade as we had had previously but the hotel was full to capacity which is a testament to its appeal. We were also unable to keep our room on for a late flight home but the hotel made alternative arrangements for showers etc and did all they could to still make our last day very comfortable.

Room Tip: Don't think there are any bad rooms it's just a question of if you want to pay for a sea vie...

This is everything every hotel should be. The staff and service are exemplary, nothing was too much trouble. The decor is simple and unfussy yet stylish and well presented.
The pool areas are shaded at different times of the day as the sun moves from behind the hotel to set into the stunning bay. The hotel also offers beds on the narrow beach just over the promenade from the main entrance.
Food was excellent - breakfast offers a huge variety that will satisfy all tastes. The bistro has a great menu, the burger was a particular favourite if you're after a break from Spanish food.
Local restaurants re just a short walk away, a little further and your in the bustling marina.

Room Tip: Sea views are stunning - if you don't get a terrace room every floor has its own communal terrac...

Located overlooking the bay. This is a hotel that has managed to get almost everything right.
Friendly staff, great rooms with just that bit extra like 4 bottles of complimentary water and a couple bottles of beer in the fridge.
Each landing has a communal veranda to sit out on.
Nice bar and a great spread for breakfast with good coffee.
Highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Sea view and no need for a terrace.
