“Beautiful hotel, surroundings and breakfast but service owners rude and unhelpful”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

Just back from a 5 night stay here, the hotel is clean and well presented and the surroundings nothing short of stunning. However I am shocked about the rating here regarding service. It seems perhaps one has to be German to receive this from the owners. Breakfast is great and the staff are generally friendly, especially Bianca. However we had requests such as different pillows/broken light in room/TV picture very blurry/and just to have a chat about their wine collection, all of which were pretty much ignored. We were given pillows 2 days later which were old dirty couch pillows. Daniel was always too busy or not around to sort our other issues, nor did he bother to delegate to another staff member. At check out we met his wife who insisted that I did not know my own credit card limits or how much I had spent on them since the payment did not go through. I even had to call the bank in Australia on my own mobile phone to make sure there was no issues. They confirmed there where none and that it was the merchants issue but she just kept rudely insisting that people often overspend ect. Eventually the payment went through and there was no apology just a continuation of the rude treatment we received throughout our stay. Also as we travelled with our toddler we were home early evenings. There are loads of German channels but only 4 in English and all news channels. All reading materials, books, magazines and even menus in German so remember to being your English-German dictionary when you visit Spain!

Lovely hotel! Peaceful setting and perfect service. Karsten the Chef.........amazing! Outstanding food/menus and the added bonus of room service. Great wines. All staff at the hotel are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We stayed in 'Manzana' with our four month old and it was just perfect. Thank you to a wonderful team, especially Daniel, Karsten and Maria!

A lovely hidden gemstone, one doesn't even want to share ...
Ask for the chef's wine recommendation and if you find the room prices too high, ask for the small room, it was ok. Great walking tracks start right behind the Finca.

Very nice hotels, expensive but beautiful.

Take care when booking the Oliva suite - in the morning birds are permanently pecking on the windows.

Reservation is best done via phone since they book their rooms on a first-come first-serve basis and don't stick to their offers, not even 24hs.

What can I say, this place is a hidden gem. Tucked away just outside the Town of Soller Can Coll offers you the perfect place to unwind and relax – which is exactly what we wanted after a hectic few months planning our wedding.

The atmosphere is just bliss and you feel as if you’re the only one there. All of the staff are extremely friendly and attend to your every request.

We stayed in the Lemon Suite which is one of there newest rooms and is huge. Split over two levels, with the bathroom and bedroom on the lower floor and a fantastic lounge area and private garden on the upper floor, it offers you everything and more from a hotel room.

The breakfasts are great – served until at least 12noon. Lunch is equally as good, although don’t expect huge dishes, its more of a selection of 6-8 snack dishes which are adequate for what you need. They also do evening snacks but only for a maximum of 3 tables and the menu is the same as for lunch.

Soller town is only a 15 min stroll away and has a number of café / bar / restaurants around the main square. If you want a greater selection of restaurants you have to head to the port – 3km away – which is accessible by the old tram, 4 euros’ each way.

The pool is perfectly formed although the sun loungers do get taken up fairly early in the morning but get rotated throughout the day so its no a great problem. The mountain back drop is just breathtaking.

The large selection of wines on offer will keep you occupied during the early / late evening and are fairly reasonably priced.

We loved our week at Can Coll and will certainly return.

This small comfortable finca is great for their personal service, the luxury suites, the wonderful garden and location.

We had the new lemon suite which is a dream and great value for the 72m2 space. The room is modern with a huge bathroom and a big private veranda. The suite ist located in the garden in a separate house next to another suite. Most of the rooms are located in the main house, also the other big suite oliva.

There are only 9 rooms and therefore very personal. It feels like being at a friends home. Breakfast and dinner is served on the terrasse and the lovely garden. Breakfast selection is good and eggs are cooked to your order. During daytime, you can have small snacks, lemon cake and ice creme by the pool or in the garden. If you wish to have dinner at the hotel, you have to make a reservation because their capacity is limited. Dinner selection is small, but the food is good at a reasonable price. We especially liked the wine selection from the hotels own bodega.

The whole atmosphere is very relaxed, especially friendly with a touch of luxury. The guest are somewhere between 30 and 50, lots of germans and couples. It is definitly not a family hotel.

The whole ground is decorated very tasteful with lots of flowers, lemon trees and places for relaxing, reading or having a glass of wine. The pool is located in the huge garden in the middle of lemon trees which give enough shade. Sun loungers were very comfy.

There is a big and secure parking space at the hotel. Soller is close altough we took our car to town, I think walking takes a while. The hotel is a bit outside of the town soller, but close to Palma (20 min), Valdemoosa, Deja, or port soller (5 Min), a nice village on the seaside and a good and romantic place for dinner, less for sunbathing.

Over all, Can coll has an excellent value for money, a good location, beautiful grounds and very friendly staff. It is a hotel for people who like a personal, relaxed yet luxury surrounding. We will go back!
