During a one week stay in Puerto de Soller, we dined here four times which tells you how much we liked it! The menu is extensive and written in several languages, so there are no misunderstandings. There was a mix of everything on the menu, including pizzas, pastas, meat and fish dishes, soups, salads and paella/rice dishes, and there were also several specials which are available depending on the season and availability. Many of these are Mallorcan specialities, which makes your stay a little more cultural. There are also sides such as chips, bread and olives. We had a very picky eater in our group and even they found something to eat, which shows how accomodating of every taste the menu is! It covers the spectrum from escargots or fresh fish paella to spaghetti with tomato sauce or a hot dog in bread.
The decor is fun and atmospheric, with the inside of the restaurant covered in leaves and vines to simulate the rainforest, which makes you feel like you're dining outside. The front windows were fully open every time we visited, which meant that the fresh air got in. There are also a few tables out the front, which affords you a spectacular view of the sea, and if you're there at the right time, the sunset. There are even stuffed animals climbing the trees inside the restaurant, which is a fun touch! There is a bar and a television which was always showing sport, which kept some of our party entertained!
The staff are simply wonderful and cannot be faulted, and they made our experience even better. It appears to be staffed by only three people who seem to be a family, and they are each incredibly friendly and accomodating, with a great sense of humour. They always greeted us warmly and told jokes while we ordered, which kept us laughing. Nothing we asked was too much trouble, and as we kept coming back they always recognised us and treated us like old friends. I actually missed them when we returned home!
I hope to return to Puerto de Soller in the near future, and will certainly be making this place one of my first stops!
