“Best in Port de Soller”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

We ate here two nights in a row. Everything we had was excellent. The carpaccio with port sauce and lots of duck liver was the best I ever had. Service is, as everywhere in Mallorca, rather nonchalant and not overly friendly.

“What makes a top restaurant?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

On the face of it Es Canyis should be an outstanding restaurant. It is perfectly located on the front line of the beautiful bay of Port Soller, it looks and feels very professional, the food is very good and the service quick and efficient. Somehow however our feeling after dining there is one of disappointment. It lacks that indefinable quality which sets the outstanding restaurant apart from the merely good. On this occasion we had the fillet steak ( solomillo ) followed by floating island dessert, with a good wine and coffee. All were well prepared and served. It wouldn't take much to make Es Canyis a 'must visit' restaurant but it isn't there yet.

“A really great restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

Situated on the bay with inside and outside seating this is a great restaurant that offers a good range Spanish dishes at not over the top prices.

We sat inside and were very impressed with the décor and professionalism of the staff who were also friendly and helpful. It had the feel of a proper restaurant. On top of that it offers good food. Being a bit "fished-out" we went for the suckling pig and roasted pigs cheeks both were fantastic.

“The best paella in Mallorca”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

We asked a Soller local where they went to eat the best paella in Soller. Without hesitation she recommended Es Canyis. At the quieter En Repic end of the Porto Soller promenade, we had a lovely evening at one of the beach-side tables. The service was exemplary and the fish paella quite simply the best we have ever eaten. Not cheap, but good value for money (the paella had a whole lobster as well as langoustines).

“Grand ...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

We ate in Es Canyis recently in a group of nine ... Es Canyis knows its business, even in April it is busy which tells you something.

Good location, with good view of the bay, good service, reasonable food (very large portions), good wine selection reasonable value. A good few of our party had black sole ... it may be that black sole in Mallorco is not the same as black sole in Ireland, but the fish was rubbery and had little flavor ... on the other hand the suckling pig got rave reviews.

Another restaurant we would not be rushing back to, but would not avoid it either.
