Traveling as two adults and two children (two and five years old respectively) arriving on a Thursday lunchtime mid June and staying for seven nights. The complex is made up of three main apartment buildings, Atlanta, Carabela and Bergantin. Reception, Internet access, one bedroom apartments (small balconies) over two floors with a central enclosed courtyard and outdoor swimming pool are all located at the Bergantin. We were located in the Carabela which is the twin of the Atlanta and located side by side with two bedroom accommodation over four floors with the upper floor being private roof terraces for the top three flats (accessed via spiral staircase from balcony) in both apartment buildings (very nice and unexpected and they really are private with sun beds, table and six chairs plus purpose built BBQ with views of the mountains and resort with the walls high enough to prevent the kids from nose diving, we stayed in apartment 17. Good pool located to the front with small baby pool with nice shallow end, the other pool is deeper and not so shallow and not ideal for young children. Sun beds and small children's playground were all clean, tidy, well maintained and very relaxed and we never saw a reserved sun bed once during our stay! Excellent accommodation, rooms serviced 5 days out of the 7 by extremely friendly and helpful staff, in fact one of the cleanest apartments we've stayed in but I did know of one or two people who had an issue with ants but we ourselves didn't. Parking for hire car right by reception, spaces for say eight cars and reception organised the car and did all the talking, proved cheaper than hiring direct (when you talk the language you get a better deal). Las Velas is located 20 minutes from the beach, 30 minutes from the main area of restaurants, 10 minutes from a tourist supermarket, 25 minutes from a Euroski supermarket (please note we go kids pace which is far slower than adult speed), if anything I'd say it was right on the limit of how far we wanted to walk with two young children in tow but this did mean we were far enough outside the resort to add a certain air of relaxed peacefulness to the whole complex, also worth noting we stayed self catering and no restaurant/bar exists on site (2 coin operating vending machines dispensing cold drinks including beer and a confectionary version with crisps, chocolate etc are located under the veranda of the reception building) but all residents get use of the Pollensa Park Hotel (10minutes walk) which is where you eat if your all inclusive, can't comment as we never used it. Our apartment had a 4 ring electric hob (1 bedroom apartments have a 2 ring set up and smaller kitchenette), decent fridge with small freezer section, microwave, toaster, kettle, iron and ironing board, tv with one English channel (BBC 1), all the necessary plates etc and air conditioning to the main room and hair dryer in the bathroom. Excellent range of restaurants within the resort and a beautiful old Spanish town square (best restaurant we experienced throughout our entire stay was called the 'Centric' and is located just by the old square itself, fusion food extremely well prepared and very tasty), you will be spoiled for choice and we didn't encounter a bad meal throughout our stay, can be pricey, three course meal for four adults and two children including moderate drinks can range from €150 to €200 including tip so ideal we could BBQ on the roof terrace. All in all if you want a relaxed venue in a decent location then you won't be disappointed. Would we stay again, yes we would and plan to return next year to finish of exploring this part of the island.
