My wife and I stayed at the Hobby Club from September 11-18. We were delighted to see that we were staying on the third floor when we arrived and sure enough the view of the pool and the beach was fantastic!! The apartments were really clean and were cleaned regularly with towels changed 4-5 times during our stay. The staff were very helpful and the snack bar which opens in the Hobby Club from dawn until midnight was inexpensive, serving breakfast, pizza, bugers, sambos, etc. There were sun loungers free every day by the pool, so not the usual mad scramble!
Puerto Pollensa itself is beautiful and the walk into town, although taking 20 mins, was really nice. The beach is clean and it costs €10 for two loungers and an umbrella. We recommend Nico's, La Piazza and the Kasmir for food. Avoid the Irish bars, as the beer costs twice as much as in the local bars!

  • Liked — Very clean and spacious
  • Disliked — A little far from the town centre

Had two great weeks at the Hobby Club, one bedroom apartment was spacious enough for myself, husband and 8 year old child, good kitchen and contents. Hairdryer in bathroom so ladies you can leave yours at home. Reception staff friendly and helpful at ALL times. Apartments were cleaned and towels changed every day except Wednesdays and Sundays, bed linen changed 4 times in our 2 week stay. Air conditioning was good to have too. Grounds were well maintained and the gardens were tended to each week (grass cut and flowers beds weeded). Pool spotless and plenty of beds if lacking in umbrella's. No rowdy late night noise as no entertainment on site.
Plenty of fab restuarants within 20/25 minutes walking distance. We would recommend 'The Galleon' - 2 minutes walk to the left of the exit of complex a bit dearer than others but classy. 'La Maina' is the nicest and friendliest of all the restuarants we visited (several times) and reasonable to boot. Nico's in the town centre also good for mexican food, beware of the HOT chicken wings they are very hot! Tolo's is another good restuarant but service is a little slow but the meal is worth the wait.
Beach is really straight across the road from apartments and there is a crossing just outside the exit, it is clean and spacious. Spar shop is next door to complex. The town of Puerto Pollensa is beautiful, a 20/25 minute stroll into at night for a must see are the sandcastles on the beach near the town which the locals make and they light them with candles at night - as my eight year old said "fairytale castles"!
Public transport is very reasonable and VERY prompt. Take a trip to the old town of Pollencea and climb the 365 steps for breath taking views.
In case you need one there is a really good english speaking doctor 10 minutes walk (on front walking towards the town centre) from the apartments and an english speaking chemist a few doors from the surgery. But be prepared for cost €80 for a visit.
All in all it was a very good holiday - unfortunately the weather was a bit mixed, but after all it boils down to location location location and these apartments won hands down.

Stayed the last week of the summer holidays (27/8 to 3/9). Have been visiting Pollensa most years for the past 10 and have stayed in lots of different places. Found these apartments to be very good, right onthe beach front. You do hear the traffic but unavoidable if you want a sea view. Other than traffic we really did not hear a sound when in our apartment. No entertainment which is great as you can go to bed early if you want to. Nice big pool with good size baby pool. Never a problem getting a sun bed. Lots of families with young children and didn't notice any unruley teenagers, so very relaxed.
Rooms were very clean but nor sure when the maids are meant to come as they dodn't for the first 3 days which didn't worry us as you could get your towels changed at any time. The aircon is great, only in the living room but we didn't even need it on at night, despite the weather being ver hot.The staff were very friendly. There is a small bar serving snacks, coffee, cake etc. we hired a car but its a nice walk to the town centre but maybe too far for some people. Saying that, a taxi is only 5 euros so I wouldn't let that put you off going. If you want somewhere with lots of entertainment and kids clubs, do not go hear. If you want somewhere quiet in one of the nicest resorts in Majorca, then I would highly recommend. If you hire a car, take a trip to Cala St Vincent as the views are stunning. Only 15 minutes away.
All in all I would definitely return.

Puerto Pollenca is a great resort. Mostly families and couples, (no lager louts!). Clean and never overly packed even in July. Good restaturants, lovely beach, great coastal walk called the Pine Walk.
Hobby Club apartments were definitely above the usual self-catering standard. The air con worked (essential in July!) and you could have it on all the time, it didn't automatically switch off in the middle of the night like I've seen in some 5* hotels. Apt was really clean and well equiped. The rooms are not the largest but ample. We had a room with a sea view which was lovely. The bar is tiny and very quiet, no music/"entertainment" at night which is a good thing in my book! Compared to other hotels/apts in this resort, Hobby Club is the best value and best equipped. Pollensa Park hotel is a lot more expensive and is much noisier etc.. The location of Hobby Club is about 20/25min walk into the resort centre but it's a walk along the seafront so you don't mind. Taxi is about €4 if you don't want to walk... Cafe 1919 at the roundabout on the seafront is a great spot for an ice-cream or a late evening jug of sangria, great spot to watch the world go by...

This was our first holiday as a family of 3, and decided on Puerto Pollensa. We weren't disappointed. Hobby Apartments had everything that you need. The air condition that has been mentioned previously was brand new in our apartment (306). Don't know if this is reflected throughout. This wasn't dependent on the patio door been shut as well. Spot on after baking outside all day. Sheets/towels changed 5 times in one week. Very pleasant maids as well with a decent knowledge of english language.

Pool area spot on, with enough beds to go around. Not as many umbrella's though, but there is a shaded area.

Straight over road from beach, which has plenty of room.

I agree with previous comments about the near SPAR supermarket. Saying that though this place does a load of custom. Every 2 minutes someone walks into Hobby Apartments with a SPAR bag ! Probably 35% dearer than supermarket further down the front.

Eating out is spot on in Puerto Pollensa. We went to the Codfather for breakfast - Full Monty €4.95. Definatley recommend this.

Go to Piazzo for a pizza, & El Mojito for a fillet steak - €14.95. We went to both twice. There are loads of other restaurants which are always packed out. Everyone must be of the same quality, you cant go wrong.

We went to alcudia on the bus one day. €1 each. Dont go to Cheers bar there for food after eating in Puerto Pollensa, it was a bit second rate to say the least, and took only 3 minutes to arrive, which was worrying. You could hear the microwave go ping !!

The apartments are about 20mins walk from the main square, along a flat front. Don't be put off going for a beer in the Cafe 1972 on the front. This was the cheapest I found for a beer. Bottle of Corona - €2.50. Even though this looks like "posers" central!!

We also had a beer in Trorrers bar, which was a bit more expensive.

All in all a top holiday, will probably go back in a couple of years.
