This tourist farm really turned our fog-filled Logarska Dolina trip into an unforgettable beautiful experience. It was 7 September, 2010. My husband and I had driven for almost three (3) hours to get to Logarska Dolina from the Skocjan Cave (which is a must-visit place, too, by the way). We had high expectation to see the beautiful mountains and valleys, but the fog that afternoon had really hidden them from our view . Feeling hopeless and dissapointed, we decided to start driving to tourist farm Govc-Vrsnik, where we had booked our room, a few hours later.
We thought we'd see an old, rustic farm house, but what we saw was a newly-built house...with a farm-style look. The bee house with painted panels in front of the house and the stunning Robanov Kot valley backdrop made us stare at the whole setting endlessly. The house was very beautiful, clean and neat, inside and out, and Marjana, our host, couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating.
Our room was fancier than what we had expected, too. The door to our room actually brought us to an entryway/little mudroom first. Then, there was our bathroom, which was stocked with toiletries and towels. Finally, there was another door to our actual bedroom, which was very spacious and roomy. There was a TV in our room, and we even had a balcony with a great view of the quiet valley!
There was a desktop computer with internet access that everybody could use in the main hallway of the second floor. We were only there for one night, but we had two of the most fulfilling home-cooked meals during our trip, for a very reasonable price!
Everything exceeded our expectation at Tourist Farm Govc-Vrsnik. I’ve posted pictures to help you picture our wonderful experience here. If you want to experience beautiful scenery combined with local hospitality and culture, you should spend a few nights at this tourist farm! It is only 1.5 hours from Ljubljana, so you don’t have any excuse to omit this place out of your itinerary. I found that the best way to contact the Govc-Vrsnik family was via e-mail. Feel free to contact me via this posting if you have a hard time finding this info!
