“We got married on the roof - it was magical”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2011

We booked four rooms in July 2008 and we came for three nights. We wanted to get married in the town and we thought about a boat on the bay but we couldn't find anyone we liked so we asked the management of the hotel if we could use the roof and they agreed immediately. There were only seven of us so it wasn't a huge production, but nevertheless it was extremely beautiful, peaceful and exactly what we wanted. The rooms were outstanding, breakfast was gorgeous, the view was perfect - we couldn't have asked for more.

We needed flowers for the bride so we went looking for a florist. There was only one open and my wife (fiancee) wanted light-colored flowers, but they wouldn't sell us a bouquet. The florist said they wouldn't last long and wouldn't take money, so she gave us a huge bunch of white roses for free.

There is a trellis on the roof with grape vines and billowing orange curtains which added to the romantic atmosphere.

We also asked for and got a generous package which made it very affordable.

The owners and staff were wonderful. I'm sorry it took so long to write this.

Thank you again for a memory for the rest of our lives.

We liked everything in that hotel and it was very cosy.
Location was very good and rooms were spacious, although the decoration was special. The breakfast was abundant but because it was outside, bees were everywhere and it bothered us a little bit. The ladies were extremely helpful and gave us all we needed!

Other than that, I would go back to that hotel.

We stayed for a week in mid September in a double room on the top floor.

The room was a good size with modern decor (the picture is on the website - green colour scheme with exposed beams). The bathroom is a little small but well appointed. Pleasantly surprised that they had free wifi. The balcony was lovely, big enough for a table and two chairs and excellent view across the town and the bay. Drinking a glass of the excellent local white wine on the balcony watching the sun set - heaven!

The small downsides for us were no safe (as advertised), very limited storage (no draws or shelves and very few hangers), a feeble fridge and not great bathroom products (quality or quantity).

Breakfast was extensive and good - although the juice was sometimes missing and wasn't even pure juice let alone fresh. We were asked to go to the Belvedere for 3 days and were served on the terrace at the Palazzo the other 4. The Palazzo was much nicer.

Service was a little quirky but always helpful and nice.

Location is great if you don't mind steps. The Palazzo is set against the old fort wall above the town and you can park just above which is much easier than trying to park in town. Also very handy for walking down to the beach on the other side of the fort.

As long as you remember this isn't really a hotel and set your expectations accordingly you will have a great stay here. We will definitely return.

Not your standard hotel room - Refreshingly different! Beautifully decorated and nice lighting. Ideal relaxing base to enjoy Nafplion and surroundings. Easy parking when you know how!!!! Park in the town square and take a small overnight bag for your first night. Really comfortable. Delicious freshly cooked breakfast, a variety of savoury and sweet traditional greek pies, tasty omelette and ubiquitous yoghurt as well as many breads and other continental selection. Friendly personal service and good views. Handy for walking round town. (room sizes vary - we had a larger one) Can't say more other than 'thank you!'

Room Tip: We phoned and asked for the manager to recommend a room - there are quite a few different possibilit...

We stayed at Amfitriti Belvedere for the weekend. The room was very clean ,nicely decorated but a bit small and the breakfast was wonderful. The pension is located in the old town of Nafplion, very close to the main square and the restaurants but the location is great for those who have no health problems as it required some steps from the center of the old town.

We stayed at Amfitriti Palazzo for the weekend. The room was very comfortable, 2 separate beds united, very nice shower, everything was brand new, balcony with an excellent view, modern decoration. The location is great for those who have no health problems, it required some steps from the center of the old town, but we liked the fact that the rooms are kind of isolated (at the top!) and just above us there was a parking space for our car (if you stay at a hotel close to the beach side you have to leave the car further away). Be ware that steps are inevitable if you stay at the old town, anyway.

The breakfast was served up to 11.30 and it had a variety of croissants, spinach pies, bread with butter, marmalade, honey, cheese, ham and some pastries. It was ok but not something special. It was not served at the Palazzo facilities but at a beautiful garden at Amfitriti Belvedere (3-4 minutes walk away), it was very nice!

The only problem we had was the noise from our neighbors, they were speaking too loud at midnight and i could hear them talking, but i guess it was more of their fault and not the hotel manager's! But we would definitely stay there again, it is a very beautiful place...

we booked at Belvedere hotel but we had surprise to get upgrade at Palazzo Hotel.
The room and view are wonderful and we were a bit scared to move for breakfast at Belvedere. It is no far, just few minutes and breakfast is great: many cakes and everything you like, but fresh orange juice. It is a pity, because oranges are a big production everywhere. If we could get also orange juice, everything would be perfect.
Also parking is not far, even some steps to do.
