“Una Perla de Nafplio”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

A Pearl of Nafplio indeed! The friendly Brothers that run this gem were very helpful. We stayed in room 4 with a beautiful view that greeted us every morning! Yes, there is a hike to the hotel, but was well worth it... Plus it was easy to get to our rental car just parked above the hotel. Comfy Bed and Shower was all we wanted...however, the staff provided excellent service during our stay that exceeded what we expected.
Nafplio is a Gem and close to soo many other "Hidden Gems" in Greece.
Def would recommend to family and friends.

We check out tomorrow and we can report that this place is worth it's top billing. No matter what your budget, if you are OK with climbing some steps to get home at night, Pension Marianna is the best value we could have expected. Our room was recently updated, has a comfy bed, plush towels and a big shower (not a given at this price point). The Zotos brothers are charming, hard-working and helpful. We are experienced European travelers, and we were delighted!

We stayed in early season (May) in time for the greek Easter celebration. The hotel was thus vry busy, but not enough could be done for us. Don't try venturing by car into the old town; the streets are very narrow, car restricted, and in any case you would have a very hard climb. We parked at the harbour and walked through to find the hotel who very helpfully gave us directions as to how to park, right just below the old fortress. From there on, everything apart from climbing up and down stairs was done for us. The hotel is run by three brothers, and has the most marvellous view from their "admin" centre at the top where one takes breakfast and does busines - a marvellous view over the town. The rooms are not large, but very adequate, with windows opening onto the town and port, but you must be fit to tackle the stairs to the upper regions. We stayed only two nights in this lovely location, but would certainly return again, health and fitness permitting

I cannot begin to say enough about this! The location is beautiful and you are able to look down upon the city. The brothers that own this are most kind and helpful. The furnishings are modern, and rooms are so attractive! The room was clean, and the air conditioning worked great! However, the windows did open if you chose to have a fresh breeze blowing in. The breakfast area is sunny, and the food was good. I loved the fresh lemonade from their own trees! In the afternoon, we would go up and have a frappe. I also liked the availability to buy water, and other various drinks from the main office. This saved a trip to town. The best place I stayed in the two week trip!

We stayed at the Pension Marianna almost by chance during a tour of Greece. We loved it so much that we decided to stay for two nights instead of one. The owners are so kind and the place is very cozy. We had a small room as we didn't book in advance and the room was the only one they had available. The offered to change it the next day but it was so lovely and romantic that we kept it. The breakfast in the morning was very pleasant and relaxing with a wonderful view. We loved the fresh lemon juice!
It's a simple and at the same time magical place that makes you think that life is good!

Stayed for two nights with our 17 year old son. We booked a triple but were initially allocated a double with an extra (small) bed. Without asking one of the owners offered to change our room the next day which was necessary as the room really was too small as was the bathroom. I am average height and slim but found the shower tight. Lovely view from the window. The second room was much better - in fact we had a double and separate twin with bathroom. Comfortable and clean and again great views. The hotel is characterful, lots of steps, bright colours. We loved the terrace where we had breakfast- wonderful views. Breakfast was good - yogurt, peaches, cereals, ham, cheese, bread, cake etc. Nafplio itself is a wonderful town. picturesque, charming and interesting. The archaeological museum and folklore museum are well worth visiting. Very good for shopping and some attractive, good tavernas. We ate at Christophorou's in a back street. Atmospheric with unobtrusive live traditional music. Staff very helpful at the Marianna. Would definitely stay again. Oh yes, it was also quiet at night. Surprising considering its location.

This Pension is a fun place to stay with great views and easy access to the Old City and the Palamidi just above this hotel. Excellent breakfasts. Parking is problematic so ask ahead of time where the Zotos brothers advise one to find something close; otherwise, you'll have a climb ahead of you to reach the site if you're parked in the town square area.
