After having read many positive comments (not only on TripAdvisor) upon this traditional house, located in Nafplion old city, which has been "transformed" into a "Rooms and Suites" Guesthouse (Residence) I decided to book Room No.6 which is actually described as a 45 square meters suite for 3 days.
The Bad News:
As far as I'm concerned, photos on Palazzo Rooms and Suites official website (http://www.palazzo-nafplio.gr/) are slightly misleading. First of all, the private terrace which is supposed to offer a splendid view over some parts the old city of Nafplio and the Bourtzi fortress has the following disadvantages: There are lots of columns and wires obstructing the view. The most important thing is that the chimney of "Palazzo Rooms and Suites" central heating and/or A/C system outcomes in this small terrace, something that caused a continuous noise as well as some disturbing smell, enough to "destroy" a pleasant breakfast on this small terrace. NB: The main room has no more windows facing the city or the sea, so it's either the small terrace or being staring some walls.
Moreover, a small reception room is right next to Room No.6 main door something that guarantees that early in the morning (e.g 08.00 am) you may hear some printing noises, conversations and/or phone ringing etc as this room has a rather poor and dramatic sound-proof protection. Being naughty in this specific room is definitely not recommended...
Breakfast was NOT included which is something to be taken into account as well as the fact that all mini/bar items are charged in slightly elevated prices. What I mean is that when paying 100euros/day for a so-called "Suite", I expect - at least - some fresh water and/or refreshments free of charge.
Bathroom was ok, clean and the Jacuzzi as always for people measuring below 1.80m...
The Good News:
This place is situated in a rather strategic position, not fully central but a few minutes away from the main Philellinon square and the old city's small port. At a 5' distance you may find yourself strolling in the small alleys of the old city of Nafplio. All Nafplion's touristic attractions are at a walking distance.
The Palazzo Rooms and Suites staff has been very polite and ready to offer information, useful directions as well as tips.
In general terms, I am not happy at all with my selection and I will definitely search for something else in the Nafplion area if needed to travel over there again in the future. :(
