“Family run Greek hideaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

Good home cooked Greek food. Tucked away little restaurant therefore lacking the busy atmosphere you get in town. The first time we ordered and ate too much. Second time we ordered completely different food. Both experiences were home cooked Greek food. Daughter takes the orders and mother does the cooking, so if your there by 8.30 you won't have so long to wait. It's popular enough that people will sit inside. We paid between 35 and 45 euros for 5 dishes plus alcohol. Fed 4 of us.

“Worth the visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

Family-owned/run taverna: father (Noulis, the chef), mother (cooking and serving) and daughter (serving).

The food was very good: we (a party of 3) had 2 entrees (saganaki, courgettes balls), a greek salad and 3 main dishes: kebab, small fried fish (maridaki) and minced-meat steaks (biftekia). Everything was well-prepared and tasty.

The service can be perceived as "temperamental" by some; it seems more like you're having dinner at your aunt's rather than a restaurant, but that did not bother us at all.

The surroundings are not that great when you sit outside (a small street off the busy old-town roads), but it is quiet and, as you go there for the food, the location is not that important.

Overall, worth the detour; will definitely go again next time.

“Very good, but nothing memorable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

A very decent choice in a highly touristic area, which as all such districts, has plently of traps. The house is operated by father, mother and daughter and despite the small size of the team they manage to serve food of good quality, with fresh ingredients, in prompt and polite manner. All the dishes were nice, but nothing to remember.

“Family-owned taverna”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

Really cute little taverna in town, we were looking for something that seemed family owned and a little low key. This spot was great. We ordered a bunch of plates to share - totally over ordered as portions were very large. Everything was really tasty except for the wine. We ordered the rose (house wine), it looked a little too dark in color and smelled funny. We tried it...and no one was willing to drink more. So we exchanged it for a few beers. They were very nice about the exchange and didnt charge us at all for the wine.

We had olives and delicious bread to start. Then spanokopita, lamb with artichokes, saganaki, fava (omg fava with olive oil - this was the best fava we had the entire time in greece), zucchini fritters, stuffed tomatoes, mixed greens (which were more like sauteed greens). The saganaki is a performance here - it's flaming saganaki presented tableside. Really delicious meal, but beware of the big portions!

“I can't believe no one called this expensive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

We have routinely ordered a 1/2 liter of wine, an appetizer and two meals around Greece for about 30 euros. For this, we paid 40 euros. The food was fine, nothing outta this world. For the price we paid, I expected more.
