My husband and I stayed for a night at the Isioni Pension on a side-trip from Athens to see Epidavros and Mycenae. I had found the Pension on the internet and contacted the owner directly by email, and was very happy with the prompt and efficient handling of my booking enquiry. We were quoted 60 euros for the night which was excellent value.
We arrived about lunchtime by bus from Athens and found the Isioni quickly (just around the corner from the bus station) and had a very friendly welcome. We left our backpacks in the wardrobe as the room wasn't yet ready (we had been given a choice of rooms and chose the Blue Room) and went off for lunch and the bus to Epidavros. The staff in the bus station were very helpful and friendly too.
Next morning after breakfast (not included, but a very pleasant and reasonably priced cafe around the corner) we packed our bags and left the key with an elderly woman who gave me a big hug when I used my few words of Greek! We were able to leave our backpacks at the bus station while we went to Mycenae and then got the 3pm bus back to Athens.
The Isioni Pension was very clean and comfortable and in a great location and I would certainly recommend it to others.
