“lovely, lovely, lovely”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2010

We spent a gorgeous week here soaking up the sun, eating far too much and occasionally dragging ourselves out for a walk. The apartment was not luxurious but well equipped, with supremely comfortable beds and the best toiletries I have come across in a hotel yet. The hotel itself was also well run by the owners and had a fantastically private location - we had a front room and there was absolutely no chance anyone could see us on the balcony. One minor point, however, was that whilst we were the bar and lounge closed at 7pm whilst we were there (so watching the sun set from the terrace was a little odd) but that didn't detract.

Kardamili is developed enough to have a small choice of (excellent) resturants but not so developed that all sense of it being a Greek village is lost and with a lovely woman who runs the bakery (and who is very patient with novice greek speakers!). One tip - if you are there on a weekend head to Elies resturant at the end of the beach path for lunch - yum)

spectacular scenery (mountains and sea); immaculate and luxurious rooms; friendly and helpful hands-on owners and staff; congenial, charming village; proximity to history-conscious towns of the Mani. All your needs are anticipated. this tiny bit of Greece retains a good dose of yesteryear with all the amenities of the 21st century. We booked for 2 days, but stayed 6. suggest you plan better than we did if you're traveling in season. the absolute best part of our month-long sojourn in Greece. can't wait to return.

I stayed at the end of the season at Liakoto, in the middle of a 4 week Aegean trip. Of the dozen hotels I stayed at, this was clearly the nicest.
My room was cool and clean with a massive bed. My balcony was metres from the shore with obvously a great view of the sea. The other side of the hotel had great views of the mountains, which I got to hike up.
They have a big shiny pool, internet, bookshelf and bar and the village is close with cafes, restaurants and art shops. The staff were very friendly and ready to help.
I loved this place, it was the most relaxed I felt on my whole trip.

We were there for a few days off season. The rooms are big but certainly not charming. The view is nice. Overall it would have been a good deal for say 60-70€ per night but not for 100€ as we paid (without breakfast). The support in that period is minimal. No invoice was issued when we left and no change returned. Indeed these are small details and you cannot expect a full service in that period of the year. Yet we would have expected a bit more attention knowing that we were practically the only guests in house.

Liakoto has killer ocean views (ony a few meters away) from your balcony. Free internet. Staff helpful and other guests are outgoing and friendly though you barely see them. Everything is within a few blocks including a great bakery for breakfast goods. Wish we could have stayed a week. We squeezed in a couple of hikes from the front desk guide.

Blessed with the best two weeks weather of fhe season according to the locals what more could we want!!! We got a lot - since the upgrade last year, which added a real touch of luxury, the team at Anniska have been working hard to make the experience even better. They haven't neglected the basics - great friendly service (nothing is too much trouble - even personally rescuing fellow guests who had had an accident on a mountain walk!) and great attention to detail - the decor looks fresh, those sheets are sublme and the bar and terrace are a great place to relax - but now with a great selection of the new Pelopennesian wines that are really coming into their own. You don't seem to get them in the UK yet but there is a great selection of really interesting product complemented by mezes and great home made cakes - fantastic for after that last swim on the day. Also - at last - with the restriction lifted in Greece - you can now scuba dive - the hotel has teamed up with a local professionally qualified scuba outfit run by Christos and we had some amazing trips - he is very knowledgeable about the local marine life and is committed to protecting it - a great development by Anniska. We did some new walks and tried some new restaurants - how can we not want to go back?

The secret of this place is in the energy and creativity of the Paliatseas family who own and run it .The second generation Ilia and Geraldine have taken over the management from Fotos and Anna and have carried on the dream .The situation is simply beautiful...glorious mountains rolling down to the sea with timeless villages and olive grooves in between. The hotel is on the edge of the coast taking in the vistas of the mountains to the back and the sea to the front. The warmth and welcome which greets guests is continued in the attention to detail in the cleanliness, maintanence and thoughtfullness throughout the hotel.
Rest and renewal. Cannot wait to return again
