“Nice stay outside Munich”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

For us it was a very good location. We had a car and prefer to stay outside of major cities. It was an easy 15-20 minute drive into the center of Munich. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a nice large room with a lot of sunlight. It was clean and had a very comfortable bed. The only cravat was a broken mini bar fridge where we wanted to store some perishables. But, the fellow at reception put it in the staff fridge. We got to breakfast close to the end, but the lady handling the food cooked us fresh eggs and bacon. Very considerate. It was a good 2 night stay and well priced for the Munich area

Our room was smaller than rooms in the other hotels we stayed in Berlin or Dresden Germany. The decor was black furniture with light contrasting walls. While clean, the room layout seemed confining and the bathroom was less inviting than the andel or Ramada hotels which feature state of the art fixtures and more spacious rooms. Food service was adequate, though another hotel at the corner of the road served better food. Desk service depended on the individual as some were more pleasant than others. As we were there during Oktoberfest, travel to the Oktoberfest grounds was expensive with cabs charging between e60-90 for small groups and the ride long. Not a first choice.

Although cheaper, this hotel is by a major road and noise is terrible at night. Trip to munich is 30+ minutes and you either rent a car or a bike because you need to get to train station to go to munich. Shuttle is not free to train st or airport. Overall a bad deal, searching outside of hotels.com i found hotels in munich for similar price, lesson learned. Avoid this if you dont need to be in neufahrn. After drinking and partying u hope to rest and have a breakfast with fresh something... this hotel offered ZERO FRESH ANYTHING, not 1 choice of fruit!

Room Tip: If u need to stay here, get room far from road

The room was ok. There were two double beds pushed together as seems to be the standard in Germany. The power went out one night randomly in our room for about 30 minutes. The staff could find nothing wrong and no circuit breakers were tripped. The wifi worked well enough. You had to login and log out after each session. The attached restaurant was ok. We skipped the high priced breakfast and walked up the road to Rewe and bought some breakfast foods. The hotel is about 20 minutes walk from the S bahn line and it takes 30-35 minutes to get down town. I would recommend getting the City pass as you can get it for about 50 euro and is good for 2 people for 3 days for public transportation.

We stayed in early December when weather was cold, snowy and usually unpredictable. We found the place to be comfortable and a home away from home. The receptionist was very kind helpful with local info for a couple of wide-eyed Americans. The hotel was conveniently located to Munich as well as the airport and the surrounding town was charming and had everything a traveler could ever need. We only ate in the dining room once as we found that picking up food at the market down the street was much more economic than the rather expensive dining room.

If we ever make it back there, we will stay there again.

This hotel was alright, a decent value considering the prices of most other hotels in Munich. Asside from little complaints (smallish room and two single beds rather than one double bed) service and cleanliness were nothing short of what we expected.

As far as the location, they advertise themselves as being close to the city of Munich, this could not be farther from the truth. It is a 20min walk to the station and from there a 40min ride on the S-Bahn, the busses stop early in the day but the train runs all night.

As long as you don't mind factoring in a little over an hour of travel time each way the hotel was just fine.

We had a 3 night stay at this hotel. The hotel has a nice lobby with marble? staircases and a decent bar near the reception. We booked 3 rooms, one of which was on the first floor and was not too bad. The other 2 (rooms 40 & 45) were basically in the basement, They were sold as double rooms but would have been small even as a single. The bed was pushed against 2 walls wall and was uncomfortable, with very little room to move around it. The wardrobe door could not be opened fully as there was no space. There was no phone or clock as there was in the 3rd room and even with the lights on the room was dark. The bathroom was unbelieveably tiny but functional. Room 40 is next to the sauna room and was uncomfortably hot all night and we were unable to change rooms as the hotel was full.
The breakfast was average with scrambled eggs, bacon, cold meat, cheese and bread rolls etc.
We did not dine at the hotel in the evening after some negative reports from other guests but my son was told he had to wait to be served when the waitress had finished in the bar.In the end he walked to a local pizza takeaway. Good restaurants (Italian/mexican etc.) are about a 20 minute walk away and reasonably priced.
On a positve note the young man on reception was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for him. He made reservations at restaurants and arranged taxis and transfers to the airport ( this costs 12 euros per person)
For a short stay this hotel is not too bad but ensure your rooms are not in the basement as they are small, dark and border on claustrophobic.

Room Tip: Make sure you are not given a room in the basement area - they are awful
