“Nice Lake - Shame about the 'False Holy Men'”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

The lake is nice and peaceful - and a walk around the ghats is well worth it ... BUT ... prepare to be plagued by a host of would be 'Holy Men' who are really just after cash for improving your Karma ... I found my Karma much less clam as a result of their pestering.

Please respect the requests about No Photography in the bathing areas - I witnessed some very insensitive visitors flouting this rule : you can get discrete photos of the view without invading bathers privacy

“Calm and nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

I went to Pushkar from Jaipur. After visiting the Brahma temple, I came to the famous Pushkar lake. It is a very beautiful lake where you can sit and relax. And I had one of the best lunch from near the Brahma temple. The food was very very tasty.

“Golden Triangle Tour With Pushkar Package”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

As i belong to Delhi, and i am a tourism student. I have studied a lot about the Golden Triangle Circuit and the Pushkar city.
Our trip began, when we boarded our flight to Delhi. Delhi is a really beautiful city with majestic monuments, friendly people and off-course the delicious food. We saw the Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Jama Masjid, Akhshardham Temple etc. we loved shopping in Chandni Chowk and Connaught Place.
Then we went by road to Agra- the city of Taj Mahal with en-route visit to Fatehpur Sikri. Taj was awesome, i couldn't believe the monument made up of marble.
we then went to Jaipur and enjoyed the palaces, forts and lakes.
we then planned to move to Pushkar, city where world's largest camel fais is organized every year. we saw Brahma temple and also took a dip in the Pushkar Sarovar.

Love u Agra and Delhi....Salute to preserve the great ancient monuments.

“Beware of Panditjis!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

King of all Pilgrimage in India but need to be careful about the so called guides and pandits here. right from the toll gate they will start chasing you and also fight with each other in the process. I was wondering why are they fighting for a small guide fee!! Realized later. The temple is the only Brahma temple in India (heard now there are others in India too) and one cannot perform puja in the temple. The real place to worship is the Lake and Panditji will perform the Puja ritual in front of the lake. But we need to be careful during the puja. These Pandits during the Puja will somehow make you agree for a donation of minimum Rs 1100 or multiples thereof before you even realize and then force you to pay. A major percent (or the whoe it!) of that goes to the Driver, the Guide and to others...all in the name of pilgrimage!!
