“Relaxed place, Filthy kitchen...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

We went there for a relaxed Sunday brunch. The place was quite full: a good mix of Indians and foreigners enjoying their beer and snacks.
We had a pasta, which was quite flavourful and a bruschetta that was a tad bit too burnt!
Just happened to walk past their kitchen: was quite appalled to see the filth! and flies sitting on the freshly prepared plates of food!
I wish they get mindful about hygiene!

Excellent place to chill out and have good food (Still dont know the new name exactly). Amazing food (including some JAIN dishes cooked on special request). Try their special spinach based curry. Great staff !

“new location/ new name”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

as previously stated, this place has moved and changed it's name, it's now like golden palace or paradise or something, it's on the river on the opposite end of town from magno tree. it doesn't seem to have lost anything however, as we had a great experience there and really enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. A++

“RIP Shanti..Hello Golden Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

Not to be confused with Shanti guesthouse across the river.

Shanti at Hampi bazaar is razed to the ground, then we got this tip from a fellow tourist, who recommended Golden Paradise. Apparently the staff at Shanti have taken over Golden Paradise now. So technically this review is for Golden Paradise

Let me say that hands down it is the best restaurant out there. They have a super river view as well, but the food is their USP. Tried various items from the pizza, pasta, sizzler, humus platter, to their juices and deserts and everything was exemplary ! That banoffee pie is one of the best I ever had. Highly recommended

“Shanti”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

The New Shanthi was a beautiful retreat for us in Hampi. We went there for porridge most mornings, endless cups of chai at all times of the day and often for supper. They have a very good range of cuisine and everything that we had was delicious. Even off-season when the staff were preparing to head home for monsoon, they were so accommodating towards us.

There is a very chilled ambience, gentle trance playing and an array of art work all around. I actually bought a picture here, I spent so many hours staring at this mesmerising painting that I just had to buy it. I carried it all across India wrapped in a roll of newspaper.

The New Shanthi has a great location to watch visitors passing through the bazaar and the occasional cow stopping by to accept a banana from the New Shanti manager. It's worth a visit.
