I've been coming here since 2009. As an Englishman living in India, I sometimes crave home-cooked food with a European flair. This place never disappoints.
Whether it is a sunny day (there is a rooftop with incredible mountain views) or tipping down with rain (Dharamsala gets 3.4 metres annually, most in July), this place caters to coziness and open-air dining in equal measure.
DK and his wife Lhamo run the place. They are the essence of Tibetan hospitality. He provides much of the service while she does much of the cooking.
The vinaigrette is incredible. I always ask for double. The salads have the freshest ingredients (typically for india, the restaurant is vegetarian), and there are home made quiches and cakes.
If you are feeling under the weather (McLeod Ganj has several decent bars), try their soup, topped with yak cheese, served with chunky home made bread. As their menu states: "It is always time for soup".
