As a first timer it is unclear where to go once you have "crossed the threshold" as the layout is confusing and the stale cigarette smoke in one section is decidedly off-putting to say the least. Some area's are a little tired and tatty - although some would say full of character.
So after the initial not-so-lekker impression I was greeted by very friendly and helpful staff and we had a WONDERFUL waitress (Mona Lisa).
We ordered the Eisbein and the Chicken Schnitzel which were nicely complemented by the impressive selection of German draft beers. I can highly recommend the Bromhof which is not too heavy and quite fruity.
The food was good (althought the Eisbein would've been nicer with a tasty gravy) and the portions are very generous.
The Apfel Strudel looked divine and by all accounts was delicious.
