Owner description: The sheltered inlet of Boulders Beach is located in the Cape peninsula near Simon's Town. Here exists a protected colony of African penguins which can be viewed in their natural habitat via wooden walkways. There is also an excellent beach for swimming nearby.

“Amazing”

Who would expect to see penguins on a beach in South Africa !!! The good thing is that you actually get pretty close to them. The whole setting is amazing.

“Penguins galore”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

If you like penguins this is the place for you! It's a short walk along a boardwalk to the beach where there are about 100 penguins going about their daily business. Super and very accessible.

“Close up with African Penguins”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

On our way to Cape of good hope we stopped ia at boulders beach where the penguins are plentiful and close all day. The quiet secluded inlet is literally teaming with penguins, and the boardwalk makes it easy to get good views and pictures.

“Penguins within arms reach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

The reason I wanted to visit SA didn't dissapoint. A must see for any visitor to Cape Town! The penguins are so close, laid back and oblivious. A memorable moment which will be remembered forever.

“Amazing to see penguins in SA”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

It was great to be able to observe the penguins going about their daily lives. It was the time of year when the penguins were sitting on their eggs - the parents took it in turn to sit on the egg. Was interesting watching how the penguins dealt with a marauding sea gull. Well worth a visit.
