“Really enjoyed our stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2012

We stayed here during a weekend trip to Crystal Bridges Art Museum - which was incredible, by the way. The room was nice, not fancy or four star - but we paid a weekend winter rate of only $79 per night for a non-smoking, king bedroom. There was a good reading chair, a desk, flat screen TV, and excellent bed. The room was very clean - towels were fluffy and large. A coffee maker was provided. The breakfast was included in the price; it was much more than we expected, and we enjoyed visiting with guests from all over the country. The staff was helpful and friendly and while we did not take part in the complimentary wine and cheese, we were told those were excellent. The location can't be beat for University of Arkansas events, NW Arkansas business, or Crystal Bridges. Would highly recommend.

On our trip to the Crystal Bridges museum, we needed a central location to check out the other area attractions. We were thrilled to be able to stay at a "boutique hotel" in an area not known for those kind of accommodations. We had one of their standard king rooms that comes with a full-sized couch and two wing back chairs (in addition to the other furniture). So the room could easily accommodate us chatting with our friends in our room after supper. The wine&cheese were much better than standard fare you might expect. Most of the breakfast was average, although a couple of the pastry selections were old/tough/sad-looking.

The associated restaurant, James at the Mill, was very very good. And I wouldn't begin to think that there would be any similar high-end dining options anywhere in the area. Their take on Ozark haute cuisine was engaging and delicious.

We toured a few of their suites, just in case we return to Arkansas. A couple suites have the bedroom upstairs from the bathroom and living area. So you might not like that, although the nice furnishings were similar to the standard rooms. The Mackintosh suite had unique furniture and decoration, so it would be great. The architect's room was a BIG disappointment, so I would not book that room (mismatched worn furniture, double-sized bed, outdated art, etc.).

Convenience to the highway and quiet, clean rooms were very good too.

Wonderful hotel. The service was excellent and the rooms were very clean and quiet. The property surrounding the hotel is landscaped wonderfully. The hotel provides complimentary wine and cheese and a free breakfast, both are excellent and extremely well done. Plenty of options are provided.

Pretty Hotel with a lot of history. Rooms are nice and well equipped. Very clean. Most all room pictures we see online show a sofa but not all of them have a sofa bed. Reserved a regular room and didn't realize it didn't have the sofa bed. Sweet lady that checked us in realized we would need one for our son and upgraded us for free. Desk lamp was missing so they brought one up but still didn't feel like there was enough lighting in the room for working and limited electrical plugs. Iphone/ Ipod dock in every room. Complimentary breakfast was nice but limited. Coffee was excellent. Great location. Close to the bypass from Springdale to Fayetteville. Quick drive to everything without being in the middle of the traffic.

Room Tip: Rooms one the second floor have their own enterance and parking lot. I'm sure those rooms are qu...

Between the price and the many favorable reviews here, it was easy to select The Inn at the Mill for my November, 2011 trip to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. That's about 20 minutes north, in Bentonville, the home of the Wal-Mart company. The University of Arkansas is much closer. The Inn at the Mill is very close to I-580, the main highway, so getting anywhere from here is very easy. You can't see or hear the interstate from the Inn, which has nicely soundproofed windows.

Although this is a smaller hotel (+- 48 rooms), it's not really accurate to describe it as a B&B or an Inn. Clippings on the breakfast room wall suggest to me that it was built in 1991. However, it has clearly had some renovation since then, as well as good care. My bathroom looked to be five years old or younger. The hallways are much brighter and more attractive than any Hilton I've ever been in. It is small enough that it wasn't in my Garmin GPS database, but the "Street Address" entry worked fine for getting here.

The free continental breakfast is superb, with cold meats and cheeses, as well as cereals, boiled eggs, and pastries and bagels. Seating is living-room lounge style, there are no dining tables. The three coffees offered were much better than average. You also get a 10% discount to the high-end restaurant next door, James At The Mill. This must be among the top three restaurants in a ten-mile radius. I ate there twice, and was very impressed with the menu, ingredients, and service. (It is expensive, from a family-vacation point of view.) Internet WiFi was free.

The front desk staff was charming and helpful. My room was spotless for the three nights I was here.

Room Tip: I always ask for a "rear" room, but I doubt that you could hear the highway from the front...

A stay at Inn at the Mill is a truly relaxing experience in a beautiful, unique setting. Add to that the Fabulous restaurant, James at the Mill and a visitor will want to stay forever! You are greeted warmly and graciously by the staff of this beautiful property. And the rooms! WOW!!! Spacious, tasteful and so comfortably decorated. The bed and pillows are divine! And the toiletries laid out in the bath are luxurious and lovely. In the morning, a light, lovely continental breakfast with a number of yummy and healthy choices PLUS delicious coffee. We can not wait to return again, and again. Oh, and guests are offered a discount at the extraordinary dining delight, James at the Mill.

Room Tip: King room upstairs.

We have stayed here on multiple occasions and our experience each time has been exceptional. While you are there you have to feed the fish. They have the largest coy fish we have ever seen. The bed is the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. Literally. The room was very clean and the restaurant is delicious. If you check in afternoon/evening they offer complimentary wine and cheese. The service is great and this is our favorite place to stay in Fayetteville.
