“Worth the side trip for buckwheat pancakes and mixes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

We stopped by War Eagle for breakfast and to get some pancake mix. It was a quiet tuesday morning in october. Beautiful weather; nice fall colors. The buckwheat pancakes were delicious and I enjoyed the grits but prefer less cheese myself. Great local fair but nothing special about the coffee. The waiter was friendly and tons of old paraphernalia of days gone by were on display. Take a walk around the grounds. Interesting history plaque on the side of the building and the waterwheel was impressive.

“The War Eagle Craft Fair”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

My husband and I went to the craft fair today. We arrived about 8:45am, Sat. Oct 20. There were so many different vendors there. 100's of every kind of craft you can imagine. There were about 35-50 food vendors, with everything from funnel cakes, meat on a stick, indian tacos, burgers, greek food...and much more.

We found all kinds of different gifts for different members of our family. There was pottery, and decorated gourds, and wood crafts and just about anything you can think of.

We left about 3 hours later, and I am quite sure that there was plenty we didn't see. The prices were very reasonable. We spent less than $50.00

On the way out, about noon, the traffic getting into the park was lined up for about 3 miles...so I advise getting there earlier.

A great event.

“Great place to visit, terrible restaurant”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

The Mill itself is a great place to visit. It is pretty cool to see the grains ground right in front of you - powered by the water wheel. You can purchase organic, stone ground grains. We love the pancake mix and the grits. Most items are packaged in decorative sacks.

We were not particularly impressed with the restaurant. Service was unbelievable slow (an hour to get lunch!), there are cobwebs and dust all over the decorations, tables were not cleared so there was no place to sit and the staff was not very pleasant. The food is not horrible, it is not great. We would have been better off going back to the Square in Rogers to find a place to eat.

“Loved the buckwheat pancakes”

Great view from the third floor restaurant. The pancakes and bacon were delicious. It was well worth the drive.

“Right state of Mind”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

This is one of those civil war attractions that is a nice break in your "day of being a tourist". On the third floor is a decent restaurant (decent...but not great). This is where you will get a couple of nice views from the mill. It has a gift shop and a floor with a few interesting things to look at. It is...what it is...a grain mill with a still working water wheel...next to a single lane bridge (that is famous for its accidents...since it is still in use today and people don't seem to get the concept of looking down the bridge to see if another car is coming before they head across it!) The general area is relaxing and photo quality scenic.
