This is a really difficult hotel to review fairly due to the fact that we were more or less the only people staying there. When we arrived, the kitchen was closed but the manager said he would call for a takeaway. We decided on a pizza but turned it down when we realised that it would cost £30 for 2! The next day we wanted to book a tour to Petra. We asked the manager to organise this for us. He said he had 'a friend' who could take us and then gave us a price of £400! which we obviously declined. In the end the trip cost us about £45 each entrance fee and if we had used a guide it would have cost a further £45! Not sure if the manager, his friend or both were on the make. The hotel itself was, I should imagine, spectacular in it's day but is now in desperate need of a makeover. The room was functional albeit tired. The sunbeds were very rickety, the pool area in general was very tatty. When we were there, there was a dead bird in the pool for two days which my husband finally pulled out and a pair of pants in one of the plant pots which are probably still there now! The breakfast left a lot to be desired but then I suppose it's difficult to organise a buffet breakfast for two! On the positive: the room rates were very reasonable, our room was a good size. The TV was better than at most hotels. The man that cleaned the room was always happy and extremely helpful and we did receive a complimentary bottle of wine on our last day but the best thing of all was the view.....stunning, amazing, incredible!
