“Very pleasant stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

Our room was clean, the staff were friendly. The breakfast was excellent and the evening buffet was great. The a la carte was not as good though. The Turkish bath was good as was the pool. It isn't too close to Petra but they run a shuttle bus to and from so this isn't a problem.

I was just reviewing with a friend our photos from Petra and our 4-day-long trip to Petra, Little Petra, Wadi Musa, and Wadi Rum back in November 2011... and all of the sudden I get a reminder of TripAdvisor to continue rating and Amra Palace Hotel showed up as one of the options... must be serendipity advising me to go back? ;)

Amra Palace Hotel was quite a surprise for us as we weren't expecting to be lodging in more luxurious-style place than what we are used to (we are more the backpacking-style travellers)... so, it was quite nice to feel a bit different and have nice, clean, comfortable amenities we weren't expecting... we got there by chance, as it was recommended by our private guide ;)

It's a very convenient hotel to stay while in Wadi Musa as it is far enough from the very busy entrance to the magnificent Petra, UNESCO Heritage Site, but convenient enough to get in and out of town... Beds are comfortable, free WiFi, and a very large and rich breakfast buffet!! Dining is also nice, although we preferred to experiment more local and small restaurants... No time for TV or indoor pool, but the one experience we recommend is the Turkish Bath! What a nice, relaxing but also funny time! If you are not into the whole massage experience or are very ticklish, don't do it as it is done by very very strong hands :) but it is very relaxing afterwards!

Overall, we had a very good experience and totally recommend it if you want a bit of an up-scale break from a backpacking Southern Jordan trip...

Room Tip: The rooms that look to the back streets may be a bit noisy due to the local school and playground...

Really nice hotel, good value for money, comfy soft bed, awesome green exterior and heated pool! It is more like a four star hotel rather than three, so very happy with the place. We indulged in a 45 minute Turkish massage/bath which is one of the best I've had: Sauna, body scrub, fantastic massage and tea. It was well worth the JD13 (special promo). I wish we stayed for longer than one day/night because we didn't have much time to spend in the lovely pool. The views from our bedroom were really nice. Overall, I will definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Amarock palace for 1 night on a trip to Petra in February. After a hard day of trudging around the great wonder, It was lovely coming back to such a beautiful little hotel. Whilst a bit small, the rooms were very clean and the hotel staff very polite and attentive. The highlight for me was the indoor pool and Turkish spa. Enjoyed an hour long treatment for only 20us and have never felt so clean as I did afterwards. Buffet breakfast was okay. Not that much choice but better then your basic bread, cereal, fruit. Overall I would definitely stay here again. It's hard to put a finger on it but the hotel has a nice, cosy atmosphere with just a hint of luxury.

I was travelling with a large group and we had stayed in Bedouin tents for the last 5 nights. We had trekked for days across the desert to get to this hotel and we found it to be clean, the beds were amazingly comfortable, the breakfast was soooooo good and the jacuzzi was amazing. They didn't mind us drinking our own alcohol on the premises although they don't sell it. The staff were friendly and helpful too. very happy :)

Room Tip: I would choose a room away from the mosque side as the call to mosque is really early in the morning...

I stayed at this hotel three nights and visited Petra. It is located near the town center. Very clean, large room, large comfortable bed. Breakfast is very good, lots of variety. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The internet connection gets slow or doesn't work at times, but you can let them know at the reception and they will reset the modem. The Petra archeological site is located 1.5Km from the hotel, you can walk there, no need for taxi. There are lots of supermarkets (small, but enough variety) nearby. Also three banks with ATMs within walking distance.

My friend and I had a nice stay here a few months ago. The staff was very nice and joked around with us a bit. The turkish bath wasn't the nicest but it's a good price. The rooms were small though, but the hotel is pretty reasonable. Also, the food is alright, we had the buffet breakfast and dinner. There are hotels with better locations, and I wish we had stayed a bit closer to the entrance to Petra.
