The Petra Guesthouse is actually just inside the Petra site which is a huge plus if you have just walked back from the Monastery and don't think you can take another step! The hotel is set out as villas along the hillside (so may not be great for the less mobile). The rooms are average and the bathrooms could do with a bit of updating but the staff are lovely.
We chose this hotel rather than the Movenpick because of the Cave Bar in its courtyard, and we weren't disappointed. The bar has a great atmosphere and food and the staff were fab, particularly Jafaar. After a long day exploring one of the ancient wonders of the world I'd thoroughly recommend staggering as far as the Cave Bar for a restorative cold beer and chicken shawarma sandwich.
