The room rates are reasonable and the rooms are fine. Not luxurious but comfortable. It's a bit of a walk to get to petra but the hotel will give you a ride there in the morning. The manager is very friendly and helpful. He helped arrange transport (good price) for me to get to Aqaba the next day as I arrived without a plan of what to do after spending a night in Petra.

The owner does everything to make your stay as good as possible! He helps very well with your travel plans. The rooms are very nice and clean. Make sure you book early as this is a popular hotel in Petra.

Having read lots of positive things about this hostel, we were pleased with the clean rooms, good food and welcoming hospitality. The staff were hugely helpful with information about Petra in our short 24hr stay.

We booked this hotel after reading all the positive comments on Tripadvisor, and were so glad we did.
The hotel is clean. Breakfast is fine. The home cooked food in the evening is great. The rooms are large and well equipped and represent fantastic value for money. However the best thing about this place is the staff, all of whom were friendly and helpful.
Everything we had read about Mosleh was true.
Due to my wife getting a 24 hour tummy bug we had to change our itinerary. We contacted Mosleh and he changed our booking at very short notice, no problem at all. He was genuinely caring and attentive, bringing my wife herbal drinks to settle her tummy.
We had 3 great nights at the Cleopetra and would no hesitation in recommending it .

Cleopetra is by far the best quality budget hotel we've stayed at anywhere in the world. Our room was huge, the bed super comfy, great aircon and basic breakfast. What makes this place amazing though are the staff, all of them so friendly and willing to help - including a ride down the hill to Petra whenever you want it, and tips on how much a return taxi should be (not more than 2 dinars!). Mosleh especially goes out of his way to make guests feel welcome, he organised a car for us from Aqaba and then to the Dead Sea, with friendly drivers in great cars; he took us on a tour of Little Petra our first evening there; and was always free for a chat and to give local restaurant recommendations (Al Arabi just down the road was so good we went twice!) Thank you Mosleh and Cleopetra for making us feel so welcome in Jordan.

Before booking I had read numerous positive comments on the main man Mosleh, and he was everything that had been described. He has great contacts and knowledge of the local area, and was able to provide a very good rate to Madaba for private car when I left (15 jd). He will always endeavour to ensure single travellers are put together ie trips to wadi rum etc, to make it most beneficial from the cost and the meeting up with other people perspective. Great evening buffet meals for just 6 jd with ample variety and quantity of food, also a great way of meeting other fellow travellers. Cost is excellent. Good communal and relaxed seating area by the front desk. On my first day Mosleh was also very helpful taking myself and a fellow traveller whom I had just met to various shops on the way to the main petra visitor centre.

My girlfriend and I were traveling through Jordan and heard about the Cleopetra from some people we met at a hostel in Aqaba. They recommended the place and with only twenty-four hours notice we managed to get a single room at a decent rate. You won't meet a nicer guy than the manager/owner Mosleh, who has managed this family-owned hotel for at least a decade. He speaks perfect English and goes out of his way to help in your travel arrangements-- we wanted a rental car, but there were none available, and we had been quoted quite high fees for taxis to take us north to our desired destinations after Wadi Musa. When we told Mosleh, he found us an amazing deal with a friendly, local driver, who took us to all the spots we wanted over three days and charged about 50% less than what we had previously been quoted. It made renting a car look exorbitant!

Everyone we met, and the other reviewers on Trip Advisor, have the same opinions about the man. It really makes a difference in a stay like this. About the hostel, it's clean, well-run, with a comfy lounge/TV area and separate dining room. We were skrimping and didn't want to spend too much on dinner (especially because we thought it would be the same as everywhere else -- mezze, bread, baba ganoush, nothing too varied), but Mosleh put together a great spread with dishes we hadn't tried yet, and all for an affordable price. I could go on and on...

Thanks, Mosleh!
