All we can say is WOW! We've stayed here while performing at The Wiarton Willie festival and can't even begin to list how many great things there are about this place. Ruth and Gord are wonderful hosts, the place is immaculate and tastefully decorated and HUGE! Tons of space and privacy in the main floor area and the rooms are big and spacious as well.

On top of that we found out that Ruth is a chef and made us the most incredible gourmet breakfast - with everything home made. And they tell us this is they way they treat all their guests.

The rates are even BETTER than some hotel rates we've had - the breakfast alone was worth it. If anyone has to be up in the Wiarton, Sauble Beach, or Owen Sound area we can highly recommend Haven On The Bay. Can't say enough good things about this place and the people who run it.

I have been visiting the Bruce Peninsula and staying at Haven on the Bay for the past six years. After each visit, I think, Ruth and Gord cannot make it any better...and yet, each year I return to a higher level of perfection. The rooms are immaculate, tastefully decorated, soothing and comfortable. The breakfast is something to look forward to. We stay for week long visits, and yet, are never bored with the fare. Ruth is an exceptional chef and her meals are the perfect blend of divine cuisine and comfort food. My daughters rave to all of their friends about Haven on the Bay and the "yummy" breakfasts. There are a lot of different B&B's as well as cottage rentals and hotels on the peninsula, however, nothing compares to Haven on the Bay. You are welcomed warmly upon arrival, and leave feeling like family. Ruth and Gord go out of their way to ensure all of your needs are met. Travel information is readily available and they have shared many great sightseeing tips. We spent six weeks in Florida this past summer, foregoing our yearly trek to the peninsula. Despite the fact that my daughter had been to Universal Studios, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and the Florida Keys, she still bemoaned the fact that she hadn't been to "the" bed and breakfast. We went this past weekend and once again were delighted with our stay. I own a retreat centre and aspire to emulate Ruth and Gord's establishment. It is unparallelled!

Room Tip: I have stayed in almost all of the rooms over the years, but, love the birch room the most...formerl...

My Wife and I spent 2 nights at the end of August and had a great stay. It is beautifully decorated inside and the rooms are exceptionally clean with excellent beds and bedding. The location is great if you want to be in the middle of it all. Close to all the parks and the beaches it may be a little off the beaten track but the breakfasts alone were worth it. They were the best meals we ate hands down. It certainly started all of our days off right, which is more than I can say for all the tourist trap restaraunts in Tobermoray. Ruth and Gord are very nice people and we look forward to staying with them again.

My husband and I stayed at Ruth and Gords for 2 nights and appreciated the impeccable mattress and box spring dust mite protectors to be a comforting relief to my allergies. What a wonderful feeling to wake up not sneezing. I was so impressed, that I looked at the label and went out and bought the identical ptotectors by Milano for our bed at home. Everyone should have these on their bed if they suffer from dust mite allergies. Ruth and Gord , thanks again for providing such a beautiful relaxing, and impeccable place for allergy sufferers such as myself.

We stayed here with our 7-year-old daughter and had a great time. As others have noted, the modern, clean decor is a refreshing change from the overstuffed, overdecorated look of many old-fashioned B&Bs. The beds were really comfy and the bedroom and bathroom were impeccably clean.

The main floor lounge was roomy and inviting with lots of windows letting in the light and breeze. There were games and toys for our daughter, plus comfy armchairs and sofas for the grownups to loaf in. Many B&Bs do not allow children, so it was a welcome change to find one that not only permits kids, but offers stuff for them!

Breakfasts were generous and very tasty. Lots of breads and muffins, plus a hot dish and fruit. I was particularly impressed and delighted by the delicious black tea served; it was loose leaf! I've never seen loose leaf tea in a hotel or B&B, so this was a real treat.

Overall, Ruth and Gord provided a relaxing home away from home for our holiday. We found them to be helpful, friendly, and very hospitable. Most definitely I would return.

Room Tip: There's an exhaust fan that vents out the back of the house below the Driftwood Room. It was a b...

Ruth and Gord are the ideal hosts. They are welcoming and accomodating. Their beautiful B&B is newly renovated so the decor is not out of style like most B&B's around....attention to detail is what comes to mind when I think of Haven on the Bay! Gord surprised us by starting the fire out in the garden when we came back from dinner. Ruth's homemade muffins are so delish! And their black tea is one of the best I've tried! We've already started recommending to our friends!

Room Tip: The Redwood has high ceilings, a fridge and nice vibe. Sandwood is smaller than expected but has the...

The service at Haven on the Bay is excellent, with a friendly feel while maintaining professionalism. Greeted by Gord and Ruth as if we're friends and not just customers, the folks and the house itself are just lovely.

We stayed in one of the rooms that is not en-suite, and had to juggle a bit with just one shower. Still, we liked our cozy room and the bed was nice and firm. Totally quiet at night, just what we needed. Breakfast was a real joy, with tons of great coffee and muffins to start, which kept us busy as we awaited the delicious hot entree cooked by Chef Ruth!

The location is perfect for exploring the Bruce Peninsula, and we went up to Tobermory, and explored some of the Niagara Escarpment before returning to the Haven at night.
This is a real bonus, and the price is right for such a great location as well.

Other than having just the one shower to share, Haven on the Bay is a wonderful place to stay, and we will most certainly be returning!
