We made reservations for 12 on their outdoor deck overlooking the White River. We probably weren't their typical guests, arriving on motorcycles, & it's a bit of an upscale restaurant. It's way out in the middle of nowhere, & until you get there you think surely you must be lost, on a long country road, through hills & fields. We arrived at our reservation time on the dot & were taken to the table on the deck. Through absolutely no fault of the owners, wouldn't you know it, that 20% chance of rain decided to dump 100% on top of our outdoor dining experience. The owners were nice, we tried to wait it out under the eaves & watched the fine linens get soaked, & our water glasses overflow with rain, but we finally agreed to come in to the lobby/bar area, where the owner had set out two complimentary plates of appetizers for us. My only suggestion, that might have gotten us our food earlier, is that it would have been helpful if they had started to take our orders right away. Instead the server began to put out utensils, plates, glasses of water first. She didn't begin to take our orders for more than 30 minutes after arrival, & by then we started to feel those first drops we tried to convince ourselves weren't possible. We then had to wait for people to leave & we split our group to 3 different tables. We were perfectly fine with this. The staff were trying their best to be accommodating. But I do think if our food order had been taken earlier we would have at least been started on our appetizers. As it was, we were served our entrees (no one ended up ordering appetizers) TWO HOURS LATER! It was too late in the evening, & too far, to travel somewhere else. Every single person in our group said the food was great & that it was worth the wait! I'd definitely go again, but would ask for a table inside. ....if only they'd build a roof, or have an awning (debris from overhead trees was falling onto our tables)! Overall, thank you for a memorable experience!
