From the moment I booked with a very helpful young lady called Blaze I knew my visit would be a nice one. Upon arrival we were greeted in a most welcoming way - nice table with superb food served promptly without being hurried. Highlight of the visit for me was seeing "Muddles" a Springer Spaniel owned by a local man who visits regularly - this dog was so much at home and was loved by everybody.
Many thanks to the Wiveton Bell and staff "Well Done" again.

What a lovely restaurant, food and warm, welcoming atmosphere. Came for a special birthday lunch with husband and 10 week old baby, who the staff paid great attention to! Had fresh local mussels which are the best I've had in a long time.

This review is for a cracking meal enjoyed on a cold Norfolk night. I stated in the sister ship The Duck in Stanhoe, just down the road a few miles (separate glowing review listed). I could blather on about the fantastic locally sourced produce from wich a talented fella in whites churned out a truly brilliant menu; equally I could ramble on about the excellent wine list (staff told me the owners personally select the wines and ales), I could rant about the simply lovely setting and roaring fire, the unfeasibly comfy seating and the sheer quality of the whole place, but I strongly suggest that you book yourself in for a big night, take friends and enjoy a night or two in a real Norfolk jewel.
This place just makes you want to move in and eat and drink yourself senseless!

We managed to get the Library room for just one night as a last minute booking.
On arrival cannot fault the staff and being shown to our room.
Library room was small as stated with only one small window, so as previously suggested it would be like an oven in summer.
The shower is wedged under the eves but ok for us as not too tall. The doors to the bathroom are barn doors so not too private but that wasn't a deal breaker for us.

We did find the bed uncomfy. My husband kept rolling out to one side and we had a restless night.Did mention it the next day which they said was unusual as people usually have good sleeps!!

Fridge with complimentary drinks was a nice touch too.
The breakfast arrangement is ok for one night but my husband did miss a bacon sandwich which would have gone down well.As previously stated it is delivered to your door and you make your toast yourself in your room. Can be quite a challenge in a small room.I suppose in summer you would sit on the balcony outside.

Had evening meal in the pub.Mussels were the best we had tasted and everything else was delicious and serve attentively.
My husband being in CAMRA had the best beer so he was in his element!

To conclude , would maybe choose another room.Could maybe incorporate a little fruit salad for breakfast or maybe a bacon sandwich alternative. We did feel hungry.

Only stayed one night so we payed £80 and that was a good price.Would have payed a little more for a filling breakfast.
You do pay top dollar so although the breakfast is a lovely idea could do with alternate options.

Would certainly recommend and we would return

Stayed here in July for a 4 night midweek break. Not really a hotel, just a pub with 4 rooms. We stayed in the Garden Room, more of a small cottage than a room. It has a small private patio with furniture, small lounge area and staircase up to the bedroom and bathroom in the roof of the building (mind your head with the low ceiling). Furnishings were good and full of character. A Continental type Breakfast is served to your room in the form of a cool box, from the Deli in Blakeney, left outside your room, with the newspaper of your choice, at approx. 08.00 hours.
Restaurant in the pub is excellent, good menu with daily specials and not too expensive. One of the 3 evenings that we dined here we had "Posh Fish and Chips", substitute 1/2 Lobster for the Fish and you get the feel of it. I recommend that you make an advance booking for a table in the restaurant for the nights you want to dine, as you may be disappointed, it is that popular.
When we visit North Norfolk again we would probably stay here, or maybe try the sister pub, The Duck Inn at Stanhope

Room Tip: The Garden Room, so full of character.

A beautiful country location, facing the village church. We loved the breakfast arrangements - you hang a bag outside and in the morning it is filled with freshly baked croissants, bread and your choice of newspaper. The room was equipped with everything you could possibly need including fridge stocked with juice and fizz. A good selection of condiments and coffee/tea rounded off a relaxing Sunday breakfast.

We also ate in the restaurant and can honestly say that the staff were delightful, genuine unobstrusive service and the food was delicious. coupled with a good selection of wine.
