“Weird service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013 via mobile

We had a very good meal. But felt that the service had a very strange vibe. Personable but strange. They also tried to make the 15% service charge look like tax on the bill whereas the other restaurants always call that out. We thought that was super shady! When we asked to confirm that it was the service charge, our waitress was really rude. Then, we realized they overcharged one of our meals (not by much but still). We called it out and the waitress seemed so put out by it. Then they brought the check back and had run our credit card at the higher amount. So we had to call it out again and the waitress literally rolled her eyes and sighed as she stormed off blaming the owner. Clearly there's some tension between them and that was awkward. The owner apologized on the way out but the whole thing was creepy. I would not return.

“Always good - never miss”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

I wish Trip Advisor would fix the location of Barrel Stay, it is on the beach in Sandy Ground - which is no where near West End Village.

Barrel Stay – another do not miss for us – it is always good and Graham and Jill are two of the sweetest, nicest people on the island, we love them both, they always greet us with open arms and are interested in what we have been up to. Cannot say enough good about them, their place, or their staff. Caesars salad (Graham’s is number two behind the Pumphouse) Sandy Ground salad, fresh wahoo, mahi mahi, all cooked to perfection, moist and succulent and Graham is a master with the sauces and his presentations are just beautiful, works of art. Vanilla bean crème brulee with homemade strawberry icecream, what a presentation - a very close second to Jacala.

“First try good, but for price....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

This was our first time trying Barrel Stay. Hostess, (Jill), was very outgoing and informative and our server was very efficient as well.

We ordered Two fish soups, The 5 Season Maple Duck Confit, Tempura Shrimp diner, a Caesar salad, Two glasses of wine and a bottle of still water. The tab came to $ 163.00 with the service charge.

The food was very good, but felt we would rather spend that kind of money at a different dining establishment in the future. The atmosphere left a bit to be desired, not terrible, just not to our liking.

“Perfect dining experience for a perfect paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

Jill (hostess/dining guid) and Graham (chef) are as extraordinary as their food! They made our group so welcome and so comfortable that we had to dine two nights in a row while visiting blissful Anguilla. We had a dairy allergy in our group and are accustomed to busy chefs declining to alter their recipes because they "won't taste the same." Not so with Graham! He seemed to relish the challenge and the results made for our favorite meals of or Caribbean vacation! The escargot tempura was creative perfection! And as promised, the local lobster was surprisingly sweet and thoroughly enjoyable. We loved Jill's company so much we wanted her to sit down and join us! Please try this restaurant; dining couldn't get any better. Oh yeah. I forgot: the view and location are to die for!

“Worth the trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

Barrel Stay has high end food and excellent service. The location is a bit out of the way but, as Guide Michelin says of its top restaurants, worth the trip. The chef-owner is right there cooking. Food is island specialties with a refined flair. Prices are in line with other top Anguilla restaurants.
