“We loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2009

We needed a weekend by ourselves but really didn't want to travel far so we looked into Mountain View. We chose this bed and breakfast because all the bathrooms are private and the web site is very well put together. We booked the brides room and are so glad we did.

The room was huge! Usually in B&B's the rooms can be small but this one was twice the size of our room at home! The bathroom had a GREAT shower for two and a claw foot tube with a sky light.

The room had vintage marriage licenses and photo's hanging around along with an old wedding dress and hat.

We had a small balcony that we loved with a wonderful view of the woods behind the B&B.

Both homes were warm and welcoming. Breakfasts are to die for and the hosts are just the sweetest people you will ever meet. They bring you cookies and stock your favorite soda. You feel in a way that you are visiting your Grand Parents. We loved it! They even provided turkey sausage for us because we do not eat pork and really went out of their way to welcome us.

They have two dogs who are just the cutest, most well behaved dogs ever! They also have a visiting dog named Mordecai who almost went home with us (I lost the argument to put him in the back seat while no one was looking - hubby said it would be wrong and all. That man and his morals!)

We had so much fun and it was exactly what we needed. We will be back probably very soon as my husband is missing those cookies!

My wife and I spent 7 days at Country Oaks and regretted that we had to leave. The rooms were fit for Kings, the cleanliness was outstanding and the construction and beauty of the home was outstanding. Carole and Jerry made us feel totally welcomed and we enjoyed many conversations with them. The food was more than I could eat (though we did!) and every morning was a treat. The grounds afford for hiking, sitting and just being at peace. We cannot say enough good about our stay and Country Oaks. You will not regret the stay.

I had to go to Mt. View for a business trip. There are no business class Hotels in Mt. View. However, I found this charming B & B. I had a huge room. Very large private bath. Breakfast was wonderful. The coffee was great. I drank more coffee while staying there 2 days than I usually do in a week.

I highly recommend this property.

A fantastic setting run by very freindly folks. The houses are beautiful, the rooms huge, and the breakfast...well, just absolutely the best you will find. And to top it all off, the price is a real bargain. Don't miss the opportunity to stay here.

Don't miss this place. Not only is it beautiful, not only are the host & hostess the very best, this is like taking a trip back in time and YOU are the princess and her prince !
These people do it up right. The food is great, the company is great, and the rooms are absolutely terrific !
We will go back, we will walk around the square, we will eat the wide assortment of foods, we will shop in the iron store & the antique stores,
we will listen to and sing along with the fiddlers around the courthouse,
and we will stay here !
There are other good places in Mountain View but really, this is the best.

This absolutely HUGE B & B offers the best of everything - outside beauty and inside beauty(tons of fascinating antiques, every luxurious amenity ever wanted, delicious breakfasts, snacks & in between meal drinks....on 69 acres, it really is a COUNTRY Inn.....with it's own lake, hiking trails, birdwatching, bench-sitting, mountain viewing place! We absolutely loved it. Our room was a GIANT room, with lovely sitting area looking out on the mountains & woods, and the bathroom was almost as big! We enjoyed several soaks in their antiqueclaw-footed tub! We enjoyed playing some games in one of the common rooms, and sat in the parlour forour weekly addiction to our favorite show...very close and yet so far away from Mountain View - their land is so shielded from the outside world that you feel you're in another country - Shangri la.The Innkeepers were kind, gracious and obviouslywith hearts to do everything to make one feel at home and comfortable---service was their mainfocus! What a gift! Everyone should visit this place - perfect spot for a honeymoon or anniversary, or just to escape the routines ofdaily life into a more relaxed time zone!!!We certainly hope to go back sometime soon.
