“First rate hotel in a remote town! River valley views out your window.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

This marvelous place was not a complete surprise. Every review I could find was positive, but this did not prepare me for the Nomades. It far exceeded my expectations. The rooms were huge, comfortable and had floor to ceiling windows that looked upon a completely unspoiled river valley. Decor was focused on the old nomads of Patagonia with life size antique photo/wallpaper and animal hides (PETA be warned!). The breakfast had the best pastries we found in Chile and a full American breakfast along with it. The manager/hostess was engaging and made excellent recommendations on local restaurants and attractions. My one regret is that we did not plan enough time here. The town is interesting and the surrounding area has breathtaking scenery. This would be a great hub from which to see the country and return home to the comfort of the Nomades at night. Truly a five star boutique hotel! They plan to add a hot tub on the terrace over the river.

Room Tip: You can't go wrong here. There are no bad rooms, just pick your bed style.

We were looking forward to some luxury after another tough day on the motorbike. I was expecting something special based on Internet reviews and the hotel website but the property exceeded my expectations. A stunning piece of architecture and interior design. All furnished in local farm theme with lots of leather, timber and stone. We were put in a very large room with amazing views across a valley towards the hills in the distance. Even though the hotel is on the edge of town, the views make you feel you're out in the countryside. Everything about the hotel is perfect. The manager, Mariana, is extremely helpful. The hotel is not cheap but still very good value. Unfortunately the restaurant does not serve dinner during summers when the chef takes his holiday. But Mariana directed us to the nearby restaurant run by Pedro and Solidad. Excellent meals and great value.

We loved the place so much, we booked two more nights for our return trip a week later. And enjoyed the second stay just as much. Good wifi and cable TV. Good, but not great, breakfast. Handy to the national park on the north side of town.

I highly recommend the hotel and suggest spending at least 2 nights to recover from long days on the road.

Room Tip: Room 4 was great. Room 1 is close to reception so some noise in the mornings.

I never wrote a review for any Hotel I have used in the past and I am a world traveler.
This place is an Oasis in the region. After a long drive in the most amazing scenery around you come back to a gorgeous room with fresh clean towels and a very comfortable bed with stunning and relaxing views. It is even hard to believe you are just a short walk to the town centre.
The service was very exclusive I was always politely addressed by name and every request was taken into attention.
Breakfast was delicious made with local fruits and jams, fresh orange juice, organic eggs and so on. It has a touch of sophistication and homemade feel to it.
The hostess Mariana is delightful and always welcomes you to the table with a lovely smile and very smartly dressed.
Attention to detail, class and homely feel all combined it really is " unique".
I just highlighted some of my wonderful experience here and would definitely return and recommend this place!

If you enjoy peace, the sound of a fast flowing stream, birdsong, and modern comfort in traditional surroundings, this is the place for you. Infinitely preferable to larger, better known establishments, the Nomades gives you the feel of life in a traditional Patagonian home, with modern comforts that would be exceptional even in Switzerland. The hosts have great respect for the culture of the region and incorporate this in the decoration of the public areas and the bedrooms. Breakfast sets you up for the day and you can make coffee or herbal teas in your bedroom. From the bedroom windows you see the surrounding montains, valleys, streams, and hillsides covered with violet and yellow lupins. One of the best places we have stayed in Chile and indeed in South America. I suggest that the hotel section would be more appropriate than BBs/Inns for this fine establishment, the first real boutique hotel in Chile.

I chose this hotel based on it strong reviews. I really wasnt expecting too much, given that this is a really small town with no reknown chains. I was delighted to find that the rooms were exactly as you could see in the photos. beautifuls vistas. There was no better place to enjoy the Chilean Northern Patagonia than sit at you room and look outside at the valley and the Coyhaique river.

The personalized attention of Mariana and her husband Hugo made a huge difference and they went out of thier way to help me plan an agenda for a totally unscheduled trip. They had some good contacts and made it all happen very quickly.

The breakfast served was outstanding. The rooms modern, elegant with a distinct log cabin like feel. In all a great place to stay. You get value for your money. I rarely write reviews or recommend, but Nomades deserved this.

Room Tip: All the rooms face the value so each one has a great view.

I visited this hotel while attending a tourism conference in the Town of Coyhaique. It was a remarkable experience. I was greeted by the friendliest hostess ever. I was ushered into a remarkable room with a spectacular view of a river valley and semi-mountainous countryside. The room had wonderful decoration of local art and artifacts. The breakfast room also had the spectacular view. The host and hostess helped in any way they could with making local arrangements for travel, restaurants, etc. The entire hotel was decorated with unique and appropriate local art.

This is one of the most unique and interesting hotels I have ever stayed at. It is exceptional.

When one had a very long trip, it is wonderful to know that an excellent hotel is waiting at the other end.

Room Tip: Every room is wonderful.
