My only recomendation to melia is to install tv's on bar to watch sports, so you don't to go to your room or to the club. Also, the a/c os some restaurants didn't work at some time, the night live is not good at all. Beside that everything was awesome.

We had a lovely time in this all-inclusive resort. If you go, be sure and level up. We stayed in the adult Level and had great service. The beach was simply beautiful and our private pools were lovely. Be sure and carry lots of singles for tips. We got excellent service and the folks even remembered what we drank and treated us great. I had a massage - lovely. I highly recommend. This is a service you pay for but will not regret!

Room Tip: LEVEL up when you make your reservation. :)

Melia Level Adult Only was our favorite resort that we have stayed. We travelled with another couple and stayed a week in July. This was our second time in Punta Cana. We have never stayed at the same resort twice because my wife insists on trying different resorts wherever we go. If we do come back to Punta Cana though, I think she will make the exception to her rule and return to the Melia.

Check in was the only hiccup. 3.5 hours to get into our room after arriving at 1pm. What made it frustrating was the front desk people just didn’t communicate with us. We kept asking questions and we kept being brushed aside. Finally asked for the big boss and after talking with Sergio we were immediately taken to our rooms. Good job Sergio!

The room was very nice. AC worked well, the frig worked fine. The room was very clean and the maid, I wish I had her name, was very friendly and very good. We had a turndown service everyday with new towels, candy and flowers. Frig was always restocked well with Presidente.
The grounds were lush and beautiful all over the resort not just in the AO section. The palm trees are in abundance circling the pool and lining the beach. You always don’t get the good tropical feeling at some resorts, here at the Melia though, the entire resort had that tropical feeling.
The beach was wide, clean and beautiful. There were more than enough chairs and palapas. The lounge chairs were in great shape as they all looked pretty new. There was some sea grass that would wash up but each morning they had the beach cleaning machine out and running up and down the beach picking up the sea grass. The water here had many different shades of blue as you looked out to the horizon.

The Level section of the beach has drink service. Freddy Zapata served us the first drinks on the first evening we were there and was so friendly that we said he would be our guy for the rest of the week. We didn’t have to search for him, even when we moved a little down the beach some days, he found us. He would suggest different drinks for the ladies and eventually they found one they loved and stuck with the rest of the week, Miami Vice. Freddy asked how I liked my bloody marys and each morning he would deliver wonderful spicy bloody marys without even asking. Just a super nice guy, friendly, personable and just one of the people we hope we could see again. Freddy, the girls loved you!!

The food was good. We have had larger selections at other buffets, better quality at other buffets, but also had stayed in places with less selection and quality. We really had no complaints. There are more than enough varieties of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Quatro for anyone.

Breakfast was always at the Quatro. Sitting next to the beach and seeing the sun over the different blues in the sea was simply relaxing. Each morning we had Sugeidy as our waitress and although we spoke very little Spanish and she spoke very little English, we communicated very well. Her friendliness was a great start of each day. Sugeidy, it was “my pleasure”.
Lunch was had at the Quatro buffet, the beach grill at the family section of the beach and at the Quatro pasta bar. I love pasta and once I had a plate of their linguini with meat sauce that became my lunch spot the rest of the week.

We had dinners at the Quatro Steak House and the Peruvian. The Peruvian was outstanding. Karen was our waitress there and made our evening. We also ate at the Dominican (goat stew was very good), Capri, Haikkado (through our travel agent we received free dinners here), and Ma Maison. All were very good with good food and great service.

Our butler, Mr. Garrido, made all of the reservations and made sure he either met us at our door to take us by golf cart to dinner, or if he was off, to have someone else pick us up. He always stayed in touch and always would somehow see me from a distance and call out my name. Great guy and great service. We were lucky to have him.

No one got bit by any bugs. We did spray ourselves but I am sure the spritz before we went for dinner didn’t last all night. Not one time did we encounter anyone who acted as if they wanted or expected a tip, to the contrary. The staff during the week genuinely wanted you to be happy and satisfied. They looked out for us instead of looking for tips. Yes they were appreciative when we did tip, and we tipped everyone, but never felt they had any other interest except making our stay the best it could be.

Besides the beauty of this place, the immaculate grounds, good food and great drinks for us, it was the staff, the people we encountered here that set the Melia Level Adult Only apart. We do not go on vacation to see how many staff we can make new friends with. We go to relax. At this place, you couldn’t help yourself but to be drawn into enjoying the people that served you. Julio, Karen, Segeidy and all the others. To us, that is what separates this place from all the other places we have stayed. Freddy Zapata, we will never forget him. I hope the Melia realizes how good Freddy and the others are and what great ambassadors they are.

I hope to return.

It's very clean and beautiful. The staff is very nice. Except for having to take a trolley everywhere this was a great resort experience. I would def recommend. Also we went in the middle of the week so food options weren't great. The weekend is when the prime stuff is bought out!!

Nice and clean, friendly staff, just not very informative hotel, guessing game to find out whats going on.not many activities, reatauranrs need to make reservation day before, but when I called at 9:00am phone was busy, then when I get through I am told they only have 9:30 pm. American grill I waited an he for dood! Poor service, but other places great service

It is a shame to know that you perceived certain the lack of information from our staff; that definitely is not the image we wish to project and I can assure you this is not a common situation in our resort.

Please note that our hotel features a complete entertainment program both night and day time, which includes a wide range of activities such as Stretching, Dart Games, Spanish Lessons, miscellaneous Workshops, Zip Line, Volleyball Tournaments, Bingo, Aqua Gym, Mini Golf, Dance Lessons, Live Music, Chill Out Parties, among others. We regret to know that you were not properly informed about this options; we apologize for the inconveniences caused.

We sincerely appreciate the time you have taken to send us your feedback and valuable recommendations towards the improvement of our services. It is only through our client´s comments that we are able to identify the areas where we need to improve and provide the necessary measures as to avoid them from reoccurring. Just returned from a one week stay at the Melia Caribe Tropical July 17-24 , We have been to the DR before and we were disappointed in this resort. The resort over all is nice and kept clean but the hike to the pool and beach is way too far and the pool isn"t large enough for the amount of people forget trying to even get near the swim up bar . A lot of the main staff at the lobby didn't speak English very well the check in process was complete chaos . The specialty restaurants were pretty good but make your reservations early or forget trying to get in , Definitely would not go back to this resort I think with the smaller resorts cater to you more this place was so large I don't think they really cared if they had a few unhappy guests . We got talked into a time share sales pitch and it was pretty funny that the gentleman representing the Melia was boosting how the Melia has 350 properties world wide and the one were were staying at was the bottom of the barrel his exact words !

Had a great experience at this resort, staff is very professional,helpful, and courteous. Jose Medina helped us with our luggage, Ruth Lebron & Josue Espinal greeted us, Magnolia Canela helped us at check in and Jeffrey Lopez in activities. At night we would dance by the bar after the show they preformed with the activities staff. Jeffrey Lopez was lots of fun he would spot you everywhere you were and would take you out to dance or just come and chat with you. Jeffrey Lopez made me feel at home. Great pool, restaurants, and activities. Fun activities at the pool, beach and different parts of the resorts. Would definitely go back and have already recommended the resort to various friends and family.

Room Tip: All rooms are great because they have a train that takes you from point a to point b.
