“Awesome country side experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2014

If you want to have nice, cozy, calm holiday at a place tucked in beautiful lush green gardens with amazing pool and beach Sheraton Krabi is the one. They knew that we were celebrating our anniversary and surprised us with beautiful rose petals in heart shape decorated over our bed and a bottle of champagne. Thanks for making our anniversary special! :)

They provide shuttle service which takes you to near by places such as Krabi town,Ao nang beach. Tuk tuk service will also be available the moment you come out of the resort.

What I really liked about this resort is you might be near a pond while walking on the pathway the next minute you are near the pool and then a minute later you are on the beach!

Internet is provided free of cost only in the lobby and not in the room. We wondered why but we realized that if we had internet in our room,we would be spending more time on line than really exploring the beauty and relaxing at the beach! :)

Room Tip: All rooms are good. Request a room in the top floor instead of ground floor.

Dear “Lalitha R”,

Thank you for your kind words about the Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort, it’s great to read that we could make your anniversary special. The resort is quite spread out and as you walk along the paths there are many things to be seen. We are glad that you liked the gardens as our landscaping team work hard to ensure they are well maintained.

The resort is away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist area of Ao Nang, but still a 15 – 20 minute ride away. The resort has a third party shuttle service that goes to Ao Nang 5 times a day and costs 250 baht per person return for a little bit of gift shopping for friends and relatives.

We are happy that we could make your anniversary special and hope you will come back again.

Warm Regards,

Paul Tsuji

First time to Krabi and choosing to stay here is a pretty good choice.

First, the hotel grounds are huge and very well spread out. Love the swimming pool and the private beach, probably one of the nicest in Krabi.

Room wise, spacious and typical furnishing and fixtures you would expect from such hotel chain and brand.

Also book a club room which includes access to the Sheraton Club with all day refreshments and cocktails and canapés in the evening. For the price paid, can't complain that the stuff they provide aren't premium.

Service is good here too and that's what always make a hotel stay matters. The staff at Front Office and Sheraton Club are really good.

What I really like about this resort is also the location. Not for the fact that it is located far from the city centre or Krabi Town, but rather just outside the resort, there are several restaurants too. Particularly, really like The Terrace.

Will recommend this resort, and perhaps stay here again though would love to try other resorts as well.

Room Tip: There isn't really a need to book rooms facing the sea since you re not going to be in the room...

Dear “JevJev”,

Thank you for your kind words about the Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort, it’s good that you enjoyed your stay with us. The grounds are quite large and are landscape team do a great job looking after it. There are two infinity pools that look out onto the Andaman sea and also a fantastic beach area.

Thank you for booking the Sheraton Club, we are glad that you liked the additional benefits that we provide for you and that our service was good.

We are lucky to be blessed with a great location, the resort is right on the coastline of the beautiful Andaman sea and as you have pointed out. A trip to Ao Nang is a 15 – 20 minute ride away, close enough to visit, but far enough away so that you are away from the touristy areas.

We hope that you will stay with us again, or if you would like to try any of the other Starwood properties in resort locations, (We are not allowed to post links per the guidelines of tripadvisor), please feel free to look us up on the web.

Warm Regards,

Had a wonderful stay at this property. Very quiet property, with lovely beach and a very well maintained property. Perfect place to relax and spend time with family. However, the food at the Resturant is not that good better to try out options just opposite the hotel.

Room is very large, with balcony. Not absolute quiet because there're lot of lovely birds singing on the trees next to the balcony all day long <smile>.
Clean bed, clean room, clean bathtub, strong hot/cold water shower. Free six bottles of water per day.

But don't stay too long in the room, no matter it's so lovely and sleepy. You come to Resort not for sleeping but to relax and enjoy the safe nature. This resort has them all. Period.

Resort area is large. So large that you may lost your way if it's your first time here. My son did. That's why 4.5 instead of 5 stars. There're signs here and there, but not enough for the new comer.

Beach is a bit far away from your room. Wide beach. But it's almost private, with soft sand. So soft that it's better to walk along with bare foot.
If you love photography, bring the camera to the beach and watch the sunset. It's not beauty but miracle! Especially in rainy season which cloud formation at sunset may steal your breath.

Breakfast is OK, though the line is a little bit short. Also shorted are plates, cups and spoons. Yes, there're lots of guest, but this -is- international resort. That costs another half star.

The resort is very far from the city. But who care? I come here to relax. If I want all the lights and sounds and excitement, better go to Patpong.

BTW, what I love most is the grass lawn. So sad that I don't bring, and can't find, the mattress. With trees' shade and warm breeze .. it's time for some napping in the hug of Mother Earth.

Room Tip: Two kinds of building location. The one near the beach is far from club and restuarant. The another...

Dear “KhunPapa”,

Thank you for your comments about the Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort. We appreciate your thoughts about the rooms, they were recently renovated and we are glad that you liked them. The beds are Sheraton Sweet Sleeper beds and really do give you a good nights rest.
The resort is 39.5 acres in size and the buildings are built back from the beach. All beaches in Thailand are public beaches, however due to the location of the resort, it does feel like a private beach. We are sorry to read that your son lost is way in the resort, as you have pointed out, there are signs but obviously this wasn’t enough in this case. The sunsets are spectacular and it’s great to go to the Malati bar have a drink and really look at all of the fantastic colours. I personally never get tired of the sunsets as they are breathtaking. We are sorry that you were not fully impressed with the breakfast, Mangosteen’s is being renovated and the plan is to start in late July, this should remedy your concerns raised.

The resort is located about a 15 – 20 minute ride to Ao Nang, the resort offers a third party shuttle that takes guests to Ao Nang 5 times a day and costs 250 baht return per person. As you have pointed out, around the resort is not like Patong, but I think this is what makes Sheraton Krabi special.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.

Warm Regards,

Paul Tsuji,

We have just returned from a two week stay at the Sheraton and we were very impressed with the hotel as a whole.
Upon arrival at the hotel we were escorted to the club lounge for check in and a cool drink !
The lady who checked us in was lovely as well as being very efficient.
After a quick drink we were then taken to our room in block H by the lady who checked us in on the golf buggy !...
First impressions of the room was that they were quite spacious, well decorated and nicely stocked with both bottled water which was restocked daily as well as nice toiletries.
A good selection of TV channels which I also noted, many of which were English language.
The bed was very comfy and very large !..

We only ate breakfast in the hotel three times, twice before going on a trip and lastly the day we left, there was a good selection to choose from, the reasons we only ate there three times is because we didn't get up before 11am.... Lazy I know !!.......

Because we chose the club room, we got to use the club lounge which we loved.
Cocktails from 5 til 7 with appetisers, these were lovely plus drinks throughout the day.
The staff in the lounge really impressed us, very hardworking ladies (and gent) who ALWAYS had a smile for you and were very attentive and wanted you to enjoy yourself, very lovely people !
While we were there I think they were at about 50% capacity as the season was coming to a close, this suited us, we had no trouble getting a lounger by the pool and the beach was amazing !...

If you go to the Sheraton you must go to the ladies on the beach for a massage, 350 baht for an hour massage, some places on the main road seem a little seedy but these ladies really aren't and do a great massage.

The grounds of the hotel I can only describe as being beautiful, with gardeners working hard during the day to keep them looking great, they did this in 30'c heat.
We only ate once in the evening at the hotel, we ate at geckos and sadly I was not that impressed with the food and found it over priced, we spent most nights in Ao Nang via the hotel mini bus which was great for 200 baht return.

Everyone at the hotel works tirelessly to make sure you have a great holiday, and they all deserve a mention as they do a great job, from the waitresses to housekeeping.

Thanks for making it a great holiday x

Dear “hullboy39”,

Thank you for your kind words about the Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort. It’s great that you could relax and unwind with us for two whole weeks. We appreciate your comments about the Sheraton Club lounge and the staff. The rooms were recently renovated and we are glad that your liked them. The bed is a King size Sheraton Sweet Sleeper bed and is very comfortable.

We are glad that you liked the breakfast selection at Mangosteen’s restaurant, the breakfast is open from 6am and the buffet closes at 10:30 am. We are sorry that your food experience at Gecko’s Italian restaurant was not up to the mark, this is something that we are always working on. The resort has a third party provider that offers a shuttle service into Ao Nang five times a day and the cost has increased to 250 baht per person return.

High season has finished and you are right, the resort is roughly around the 50% occupancy level for most of the days. This would make you feel like you truly do have a private beach or private pool. The grounds are looked after by our hard working landscaping team and given that the resort is quite large they really do a great job. Your comments about all the staff are much appreciated.

We are glad that we could make your stay memorable at the Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort and hope you will come visit us again.

Warm Regards,

Paul Tsuji,

Stayed here for 2 nights in August 13. Got the peace of mind for which we came here. its a huge hotel and very well maintained. Staffs are very well behaved, along with the service which they provided was very very good. Rooms are very spacious clean and so was the bathrooms. Its a very wonderful resort to stay with family. You dont have to get out of the hotel, u can stay in the premises and pass great time as the pool n beach, both r wonderful.
Food pricy in the hotel (but tasty). U can find superb food by just crossing the road.
If i come to Krabi again I'll b at this hotel. Super satisfaction.

Thank you for your comments about the Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort. We are glad that your liked the resort. The resort is 39.5 acres and as you can imagine can take a lot of time from our engineering and landscaping team to maintain it, your comments are much appreciated. Spent 4 days at the Sheraton Krabi in a Deluxe Club Room.

Rooms: Well appointed, nothing spectacular. We did have an ocean view which was certainly nice, and were on the club level (3) which helped add to the beauty of the view. Amenities in the room were adequate. Lot's of free bottled water, a mini-bar and fridge (fee), coffee press, kettle, ice bucket (which was often filled with ice daily). Bathroom is nice with a deep soaker tub and sliding frosted glass panels that open into the main room. Shower amenities were nice - nothing special. Would be nice to have some bath salts or similar included daily to be able to better enjoy the tub experience. Bathroom is spacious and bright. Beds are comfortable - very!

Property is huge and beautiful. It is clear the groundskeepers take incredible care of the gardens, ponds and natural areas. You often see an army of them working away - and they are all very friendly.

The beach is large and expansive, and very quiet. Swimming quality is not great. At low tide the rocky coral is exposed making it difficult to navigate with ease. It's a nice beach to walk and enjoy the crabs (millions of them if you head towards the partial island up the beach), and great for finding shells and other stuff.

Pools are beautiful. There is an activity pool (more shallow and appropriate for kids), and the larger pool with walk-through waterfall. Both are infinity pools and offer stunning photo ops and views of the beach just beyond them. Pools and area are very clean.

There is a swim up bar, snack bar, ice cream shop - all making a day at the pool very comfortable. Lot's of loungers that are comfortable, and towels are large and in no short supply.

Restaurants are quite good. Mangosteen's for breakfast offers a decent selection of international choices. Fresh baked croissants (plain and chocolate filled), other pastries, fresh honey (dripping from the comb), international (and delicious) cheeses, made to order pancakes, eggs and omelettes. A few Asian choices also - rice, vegetables, curry - rotate daily. Fruits and juices and a good variety of breads (including some gluten free choices).

Gecko's for Italian dinner. The staff here are very friendly. The food is excellent. The pizza is perfectly made, and the cheeses used are top notch.

Club Lounge is a nice relaxing place where the staff is super friendly and attentive to your requests. All day snacks, breakfast, hors d'ouevres and some drinks included. Drink choice isn't huge, but adequate for a free service. The hors d'ouevres from 1700-1900 are excellent - beautifully prepared and and a great variety - we thoroughly enjoyed a pre-dinner snack here nightly! Some computer terminals are available for use and for doing light printing.

Martini's has a nice atmosphere for dinner drinks and snacks. There is also a weekly fire show which was quite good.

Overall, enjoyed the stay here at the Sheraton. A few constructive criticisms and points of interest:
Staff in the restaurants seemingly have not eaten any of the food. This is a huge oversight in providing excellent service and an experience that is above average. When a guest asks for suggestions, the answer should not be 'I haven't tried any of the food'... All staff should be trying all the food - it would have made a HUGE difference in my dining experiences.

Airport shuttle pickup is quite efficient, however not so easy to use to return to the airport. For 900THB I would expect that the hotel would be willing to offer a flexible return to the airport, however, they do not. I was offered a ride to the airport over 4.5 hours before my domestic flight! Not really something that is guest focused or friendly.

The concierge and club staff are truly excellent - always smiling, and always willing to help out. Front desk is slightly less bright with their energy. I can understand with a big property that staff gets a little lost in the operation, but hopefully this can be fixed to improve the overall guest experience.

Overall, an above average hotel that is operating slightly below its potential. It is a good place for families (kids club and activities are well organized) looking for a relaxing place to enjoy Krabi.

Room Tip: High floors offer the best views, and keep you away from the lagoons.

Dear “TravellerDavy”,

Thank you your review of the Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort. It’s great to know that you had a peaceful retreat. Your comments about the room being well appointed is much appreciated, the beds are Sheraton Sweet Sleeper beds and can be bought online. The resort is 39.5 acres and is quite large and our landscaping team put in a lot of time and effort to ensure that it is well maintained. The beach is also cleaned everyday, to try and keep it pristine. At the moment there has been some wind and rain, this churns the water and is not as clear as other times of the year. There are lots of tiny crabs along the beach during low tide and it is an amazing spectacle to see. The resort has two infinity pools that also have a good view of the Andaman sea, many a time you will see guests looking out at the view.

We are glad that you liked the breakfast selection at Mangosteen’s restaurant. Your comments about the food at Gecko’s Italian restaurant is much appreciated, it’s great to read that the service staff were friendly. The Martini bar does have a fire show once a week for guests to enjoy also has a large selection of Martini’s for you try. The swim up bar at the Malati pool is really something that guests enjoy and truly makes your feel you are in a resort location. Your points about the staff trying the food is noted, we do have some new staff, however that is no excuse and will work on this.

The airport shuttle service is run by a third party supplier and there are scheduled transfers or private transfers available. The private transfers are more expensive, however do let you go to the airport and anytime you like. There are no such things as metered taxi’s in Southern Thailand and this increases the price when there is no regulation on this. We are sorry if this caused you any inconvenience. We are sorry to read your comments about the energy levels of the front office, however great to read your comments about the concierge.

Thank you for your comments about the Sheraton Club, there are not many Sheraton resorts with a club lounge, especially in a resort spread out like the Sheraton Krabi. It’s great to read your comments about the food quality as we worked hard to improve this area.

We hope that you enjoyed your stay with us and hope that you will have an opportunity to come back to the Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort in the future.

Warm Regards,

Paul Tsuji,
