Out the way farm campsite. We spent two nights here and is the perfect spot in many ways. Lots of campers here came with young families and we ourselves came with our 10 year old daughter and her friend and two dogs.
The pitches were allocated on arrival and well maintained with lovely views.
Lots of animals on the farm including Shetland ponies, mule, pigs, goats, chickens, ducks, geese and a turkey.
The toilets and showers were located in a barn complete with nesting house martins. There are two washing up sinks, and washing machine facilities. There are also several fridge freezers to share as well. If you need a little electricity there are also a couple of pay machines in the barn (20p for 4 minutes).
There was a table tennis table in another barn as well as a barbecue for hire and a pizza oven which wasn't let during our stay but when lit you can buy pizza mix and toppings in the main house as well as muffins and ice scream.
A walk through the woods down the valley ends with a stream and a rope swing but the walk back up is not for the faint hearted!!!!
On our second night, we lit the communal campfire and we able to use wood collected from the nearby wood but wood could also be bought from the house. Lots of other campers joined us with their chairs to sit around the fire and some including us toasted marshmallows.
Fellow campers were friendly and often stopped to have a chat and pass a few minutes and offered to lend a hand putting tent up if needed. Lovely overall atmosphere.
