“WHAT A GEM”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2014

Outstanding value for this one bedroom unit. We got a Father's Day online promo at a price of $99/night but the regular price of $155 is a steal for this place. Very spacious, comfortable, quiet and all the comforts of home. The view of the lake was just spectacular. We enjoyed sitting on our balcony in the evenings, watching the sun go down over the lake.

All the furnishings were in good condition, everything worked and there were two separate vanities with good lighting.

The resort has two pools, two hot tubs, a game room & DVD movies for checkout. The grounds are very pleasant with beautiful views. Convenient location. A nice relaxing place to stay in Hot Springs.

The only negative I have about this resort is that the office is not open on Saturdays and only late afternoon on Sundays. So if you need anything or want to check out a DVD, you're out of luck (the busiest time of the weekend!). Also, the checkout time is 10am -- just a little early in my opinion since they want you to pick up a bunch of stuff and put all the trash in the dumpster before you leave. BUT, a small price to pay for getting such a great value.

Room Tip: We enjoyed our unit on the end since it gave us an extra window, offering more light.

We stayed here on a timeshare swap. The studio we had was very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed. Large fridge and full size stove. Lots of hot water and great air conditioning. TV and DVD player worked great. Porch on first floor was disappointingly located next to 5 air conditioning units so unusable due to noise. Bed was creaky and mattress felt like a $99 special. Pool/hot tub was very clean. 20 minute drive to Hot Springs National Park.

Spent a week in 2bedroom 2 bath unit V4. Asked for fewest steps to get into condo. Thee were a total of 3 steps. Assumed it would not have a view and was surprised that our private balcony had a great view do the lake. Bedrooms are large and one bath had jacuzzi tub while other a regular tub. Kitchen small but perfectly adequate. Living room small so would not recommend extra people to sleep on sofa bed. It would be quite crowded. But for up to four adults there is plenty of room.
Having our own washer and dryer was great as we could do laundry before heading hem and arrive home without the need to immediately start home chores.

Game room with ping pong and pool table, sauna, not tub and two outdoor pools. A mini golf course with tees and greens but none of the windmills and houses you see at commercial mini golf courses.

Holidays, the town has a fireworks display from one of the marinas. Nearly every room can see the display from the balcony - but not V4. There are some trees in the way that preclude a good view of the display.

Staff was helpful and pleasant. Overall an exceptionally nice place for home base around the hot springs area or relaxing on the balcony overlooking the water.

Be aware that they request guests strip the sheets and put them and used towels in pillow cases before departing. I mention this only because I have heard others complain about this at other resorts. I personally don't find it offensive and it doesn't for me, detract from the great stay!!

Room Tip: The view of fireworks was obscured by trees for unit v4. However, if no holidays that isn't an...

friendly, helpful staff, beautiful views. The next time you plan to go to Hot Springs, you should stay here. We have been visiting South Shore since 1983 and we have never been disappointed. No matter what building you use, you will have a gorgeous view of the lake. You will come back again and again. Like we do!

Room Tip: all rooms are good. We have never had one we didn't like.

Good location....good staff....great RCI price, lakeview, bridge lights....but why some may call dated....is a remembrance to the building and design of the abundant, prosperous life we lived, built and enjoyed of the 80-90's....large rooms, brocade, silks, mirrors, big, comfy stuffed furniture.....gold bathroom fixtures, walk in shower, double vanity, balconies. Townhouse floor plan and double fireplaces. It snowed several days, we had views, fires and a lovely time.

We enjoy staying at South shore lake resort, we got a lake view room. The unit a large and there is two outside pools and a game room. It is only (maybe 5 mins) to down town Hot springs where a person can get a hot bath and message. It is close to The Bell a nice dinner cruise with great food and many other things.
