“Location and excellent food.”

Great dining on the beach! There's my review! One more thing, the Longosta (Lobster) is massively delicious and large, enough for 2!

“Very good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

The restaurant was very good and affordable when compared to American prices. We ate there twice and I had the beef medallions and fish the next night. Some of our friends had the lobster and shrimp that I also tried. All of it was great.

“Still good but not what it was.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

This place is one of our favorites for lobster when visiting the island. It is quaint with tables also right on the beach where a breeze is usually blowing. This restaurant changed hands since the first time we were there 2 years previous and the soup which used to be phenomenal was a bit of a let down this time. The lobster was still fantastic. My father loves it A la Papi style which is three lobsters halved in a thick scampi style butter sauce. I had the grilled this year and still it was wonderful. Either choice you can't go wrong. For a starter, try the Tomato, mozzerella and Basil plate. More than enough to share and very fresh. Good eating to you.

“devine food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

this was recommended by manager of swell surf camp. It offered the best lobster we have ever tasted, it came already halved which made the eating so simple and enjoyable. The De Papi sauce was heavenly. Compared to England the price was extremely cheap, we felt that we had eaten like kings and paid little for the experience.
Setting was romantic on the beach with the lights on and the sound of waves on the shore line.

“beach front dining...at a premium”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

First time in Cabarete and every review and recommendation points to La Casita De Papi. First, despite what some websites say, they do accept credit cards ( Am Express and MasterCard only). We ordered the Shrimp de Papi (cleaned or your get heads). The waitress said it was for one even though it is served in a huge pan....it is for one unless you are a light eater or get a few appetizers. We also ordered the filet of beef, it was okay and nothing special. I would definitely pass on this next time. We did order small salads, which were not small by any means! Dessert was creme brulee, another great choice!

La casita might mean little house, but their prices are not so little. The shrimp is 800 Pesos...and the beef was slightly less. Don't go here expecting it to be less than you think, bring plenty of cash!

Shrimp de Papi
Filet of beef
2 Small salads
Creme brulee
Water
Beer
Glass of rose

3450 pesos = ~$80 USD
