“Comfy short stay”

All the staff was really accommodating. We enjoyed our stay at St Tropez and Ceylon Suites. Both rooms were clean, pleasant and comfortable. The welcome drink is so good! After spending an in their jacuzzi, we had our wine and cheese in our room. They gave milk and cookies for the kids. Our breakfast the next day was buffet of fruits and bread. I tried their Tinapa omelet...really a must try! We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come again.

My husband went to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We wanted a place not too far from Makati but far enough to leave all the worries and care behind. They gave us the Siam room which was in the garden level right across the jacuzzi pool. We decided to have our massage in the afternoon. Went up for the cheese and wine then spent half an hour in the jacuzzi before getting dressed for dinner. We decided to try the restaurant of the hotel which had a Miele rating. It was really good...fried mozzarella salad, rib eye steak (better than Antonio's) and a Buochon chocolate terrine. The breakfast the next day was served in our room because they had an event upstairs with USA Potato. You must try their Tinapa omelet....to die for. We will definitely come again.

Stayed in the Oxford Suite - huge room with large balcony with great views of the lake & volcano.
Decor and rooms are a little dated but clean and comfortable. This would be a good little getaway but... The noise from the road and from the Starbucks car park right next door was really loud at night - uncomfortably so.
I imagine all the hotels along that road will be the same. Will be sacrificing a lake view for some peace & quiet at a different hotel next time.

Room Tip: Take your earplugs if you stay in the Oxford Suite

My family really enjoyed our 2-night stay at the Country Suites. Part of its charm is that it is small enough that the staff are able to respond to every request we had. The service was impeccable and always rendered with a smile. Our room was lovely and big with wonderful comfortable beds. One unfortunate drawback is that the property is right off the main road and so you get road noise all day. We stayed in one of the garden suites which was quieter, but at the same time we did not have a direct view of the lake as a result. You basically have to choose between having a great view with the traffic noise, or not seeing the lake with less road noise. This said, we would still return because the room was so comfy and the service was outstanding.

Room Tip: Garden suites get less road noise but no lake view.

I booked an overnight stay at the Discovery Country Suites as a birthday surprise for my hubby. I reserved their Oxford Suite which was their best room. And it was. Huge too! It had its own balcony with a fantastic view of the lake. The bed was comfy with nice, soft linens. The bathroom was big, clean and had a great view of the lake too. Their toiletries were the Italian luxury brand Acca Kappa. Nice!

The food at their Verbena restaurant was good but can be a bit pricey. They were having a 50% off promo during our stay so that saved us a few pesos. Breakfast and afternoon cocktails were included with the room rate, another savings on our part. Oh and they gave hubby a surprise birthday treat, a slice of yummy chocolate cake for dessert after lunch!

There was another surprise waiting for us after dinner. Returning to our room we found rose petals strewn all over the floor leading to the bed with a "Happy Birthday" banner for my hubby. More rose petals leading to the bath where the tub was illuminated by tea lights and a warm sweet-smelling bubble bath was waiting for us. Perfect to end the day!

Staff were professional and very accommodating from their reservations staff who took note of my hubby's birthday, to Czarie, their receptionists and the wait staff at their restaurant.

I would have rated the hotel a 5 except for one minor issue, the street noise. We can clearly hear the traffic in front of the hotel from inside our room. Not much wall insulation I guess. Although the noise quieted down late at night.

But overall, it was a very good stay.

Room Tip: If you are sensitive to noise, choose the rooms at the garden level. If you don't mind the traff...

Since my husband's milestone birthday fell on a weekday, we decided to celebrate the actual day by escaping the city life and go to Tagaytay and have the bigger celebration with the family on the following weekend. I chose Discovery Suites based on good reviews here in TripAdvisor and was not disappointed. The whole staff were very courteous - from the security guard who greeted us at the driveway and opened the door for us, to the front desk staff who handled our reservation in a quick manner and showed us our room. We got the Ceylon room - it is one of the rooms in the lower level, has its own pocket garden and near the Jacuzzi. It has a daybed, lots of reading materials and a very comfortable bed. I loved the wine and cheese in the afternoon in their dining area as we enjoy the view of Taal Volcano and the warm milk and cookies they provided us before bed time. Another plus point is when they gave my husband a slice of chocolate cake with a "Happy Birthday" on it. Such a nice gesture - really made his day. I just love the fact that they pay attention to small details. They had a good selection for breakfast but what I would like to comment on was the professionalism of the staff on duty that morning. There was a big group that came in during breakfast time and the staff were able to attend to all of their needs plus our needs with smiles on their faces although it was hard during that time when everyone seems to be impatient and just wanted to have their breakfast served right away. All in all, we enjoyed our stay here and definitely will stay here again.

Among the accommodation that we’ve booked last December this is my favorite. Although the rate is quite high compare to other accommodation in the area, it’s worth every penny that we’ve paid for. As soon as we checked in the hotel we were greeted by their friendly staff. We don’t even have to wait that long for them to get the access to our room. We were accompanied by a staff to our room and found some cookies inside. It’s very yummy. The furniture inside the room is quiet old but manageable. The view is serene!!! I would really love to return here.
