We were in Tagatay during the long weekend and after browsing tripadvisor on the restaurants, we make a choice between Leslie or Josephine restaurant and decided that we will go for Josephine. We arrived at about 6.05pm and upon stepping into the restaurant, I have this gut feeling that service may be poor as we had to approach the service staff for a table after standing at the entrance area for a few minutes.
We were given a table inside but we prefer the outdoor ambience and requested for same.
It was quite crowded there and the waiter who brought us there immediately says no empty tables. I saw two empty tables and insist on one of them. The table was unbalance and request for it to be straightened out but it never happened. i did it myself. (1st disappointment).
Once seated, we waited a full 15 mnutes before we caught the attention of the so ever busy staff that we need the menu to order. It takes us just 5 minutes of browsing to decide what we wanted. We ordered mixed seafood grill and bulalo soup plus Buko Halo Halo. After almost 40 minutes of waiting, the food finally arrived (2nd disappointment).
The mixed grill was cold and the bulalo soup was not piping hot. (3rd disappointment).
During the time while waiting for service and food, I noticed a couple who lost their patience waiting for service and walk out. A few tables were asking for the bill and it takes 10 to 15 minutes of waiting for their bills but the guests (all pinoys - very tolerant) accepted this.
I decided to asked for the bill the moment the food arrived. Wise decision! The food was not that great and the service was bad! The management must review the workload of the service staff during peak period as food and service comes hand in hand. The staff were so busy that they become unattentive! The only good thing I experienced was the good view of Lake Taal and the great cool weather. Well, I made a wrong choice tonight!
