“Lovely Hotel in Fabulous Bagan”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

Stayed two nights as part of an organised tour.Situated in the heart of this amazing World Heritage site. Public rooms are open and sumptuous. Staff are pleasant and friendly. Gardens are beautiful and well kept. Swimming pool was closed for part of our visit and when reopened we did not use as it was still green, Rooms are large and comfortable with efficient and relatively quiet air conditioning. Good fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. Not the cleanest room we had on the tour, towels are rather grey and threadbare. Free wi-fi which is a bonus but very slow connection. breakfast was good and an international variety, however our first morning we ate after the sun had come up and there were loads of flies. Lots of the buffet dishes were uncovered therefore from our perspective inedible, although we could find plenty to eat. The hotel was tackling the flies with a smoke. Expensive restaurant there are good alternative restaurants outside. Overall we enjoyed our stay although a shame we could not use the pool.

A lovely hotel in Old Bagan. Open plan dining, pool, wi fi, just about had it all. Rooms were chalet style and well fitted out. Eating in the hotel was expensive, food was good but not sure it was worth the money. We were woken each morning we were there by music from the neighbouring village which is right next door to the hotel grounds. I think they were celebrating a wedding but music at 5.30 in the morning was a little wearing.
Overall, a good stay.

Attractive grounds and pool, and good location in terms of being walking distance from a good choice of local restaurants. we dont like eatng in hotel restaurants if we can help it. But breakfast offered a good choice.
Front desk staff could be quite offhand and the room attendant was quite full on when he seemed to be looking for a tip
Rooms are a bit tired and dingy, they need freshening up and lacked the charm that we found in many other hoteld

Room Tip: Superior rooms have small darkish patio, I think the more expensive rooms have French doors onto a p...

We stayed here for three nights in February.

The location of the hotel is great! It is located in the center of old Bagan in the middle of all the nice temples. We rented bicycles, which was a great way to explore everything.

The room was good, very modern and stylish. The room had a safe, free wifi,a small terrace and a nice double!( which was rare during our trip in myanmar) bed. The turndown service at night was nice: flowers on the bed :) and the guys were really friendly.

The hotel has a nice swimmingpool and the best breakfast we had during our trip. The hotel has a lot of nice gardens, which are well maintained.

Across the street are some nice local food options, which we liked better than the overpriced hotel food.

We took a massage at the hotel. The myanmar massage was good, the oil massage was really painfull, but was nice afterwards. It was a bit expensive.

I would definetly stay here again on a next trip.

The rooms were very comfortable. As is common in Myanmar, the shower leaked. Nice gardens. We had a garden patio but it was so closed in with vegetation that it was really too dark to sit in! Breakfast buffet was extensive and pretty good. We did not eat dinner because it was very pricey and there are other great restaurants within walking distance which are half or less the price. Location is excellent - right across the road from Ananda Paya, and we were there during Ananda festival which was fascinating - people coming from all over to celebrate. Horse carts are usually hanging out right outside hotel gate. Location is probably the best thing here

Room Tip: Rooms close to pool may be more convenient and still are quiet.

Somehow the dust and buzz of Bagan seems to disappear in this exceptional property. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful (if they can understand you-a common problem in Myanmar) the rooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated. The grounds are well kept, and there is a feeling of serenity which we really liked. The pool is large and well located. The restaurant is pleasant, but the food uninspiring. The only negative I would point out is that the individual houses (room) are spread out over a large property and you my get bored walking to the reception area, it can be very long. All in all the best place I have stayed in Bagan.

Room Tip: If you have trouble walking, ask for a room closer to the main area of the hotel, the distances are...

Lovely hotel, spread out over manicured grounds. The rooms are large and well appointed, the staff is charming, and the service excellent. The breakfast is in an open air dinning room with an excellent buffet. We had dinner there one evening and it was very pleasant. If I were going back to Bagan and I would love to, this absolutely where I would stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room close to the restaurant as the grounds are very large.
