“Good Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2013

Stayed 4 nights at this hotel because of a very limited 3* and 4* hotel in Banda Aceh. Info : Hermes 4* is the highest category in Banda Aceh. Our local agent claimed that most of the 3* & Hermes is occupied by all the indonesia government bodies for a meeting during our visit.
Errrmmmm....my first impression upon arrival....OH MY !!! Unattractive. Old Building. But...i felt so happy to see the foyer shared with A&W (fast food restaurant). No LIFT. But they will help you to carry your luggage to your room. Room is not bad....not too small and not too big for 1 or 2 pax and its clean. Basic amenities is there. Air conditioned, hot shower, tv & free wifi...even inside your room :-)
You can walk to the famous Baiturrahman Mosque and Pasar Atjech.(about 10 minutes walk) or may take a 'beca' (motor taxi) - cost around RP10,000.00 (+-RM3).
A lot of local restaurant around...movieland (if you want to buy a CD at only RP8000), saloon, massage centre, (for saloon and massage centre, women and men will be in a different building) branded items such as Nike & Levis. Oh...i love this area :-)
The only bad things i could say about this hotel is the breakfast....they only serve noodle and toast bread OR fried rice with toast bread with coffee and tea.
Opsss..we experienced the 'earth quake' on the first night of my visit (15 Nov) due to Mount Sinabung erupted in Medan. It was 4.9 scala richter :-(
But overall...it was a nice stay in Banda Aceh at this hotel.

Room Tip: Superior is good enough for 1 or 2 pax

There is not a tremendous choice of hotels in Banda Aceh. The staff were helpful but the room on a corridor at the back was windowless and a bit of a 'cell'. It was cleanish and there was hot water most of the time. A/C was good.

I stayed 2 nights here during Ramadan so there was no breakfast (at least not at the time I got up!). The hotel was OK but not for a long stay as it could get a bit depressing (at least for me). The foyer shared with a local fast food chain and there was a good bakery and supermarket nearby. Located in the town centre you could walk to most of the sites.

Room Tip: 2nd or 3rd floors at the front - those at the back are a bit like prison cells without the windows

Booked 3 rooms via Agoda about RM100/night. Spent one night before our diving trip to Pulau Weh.
Standard room is a bit small with basic facility. Small screen TV, air-conditioner, hot shower, free wifi and free breakfast (toast w/ butter and jam and fried noodle). Located in the middle of the city of Banda Aceh. Easy to get around - near to Baitur Rahman mosque, easy to find good local food (mie razali, sate matang and local coffee shops). I dont have any bad experience staying at this place.

Its well located, but the rooms are horrible, without windows. 30$ day the cheaper.
You can fin hotels much better in Aceh if you book with time. Only for emergencies.
There are Internet cnection and hot water, but only from 5am/pm to 10 am/pm

We have confirmed our stay w hotel 61 Via agoda.com. However, when we arrived, they made us wait for about an hour for them to check their system on our check in. Finally, they told us, one of their staff cancelled our stay in which we did not. We were so furious but they said they will put us into another hotel as they were fully booked. They actually moved us to a lower grade hotel despite it being their fault.

for 36 € you'll get a tiny room without windows in a basement between a fastfood and an arcade.
Besides, internet and hot water weren't working, there were quite some bugs in our room and they don't have non-smoking rooms
breakfast has two options: western is toast and jam/butter, rice and noodles for the asian version.
the airco was working and the receptionnists were friendly, that's the only positive things about this hotel.
