The hotel is fairly good, all things considered--especially how far away it is. It is an 8 to 9 hour drive from the closest airport to the hotel. The rooms are inside Toraja style houses, one room on top and a second below. The soundproofing is terrible, so hope that no one else is housed near you. There is no air conditioning, but the nights are cool. There are no screens on the windows, but there don't seem to be a lot of insects. The rooms are large and the bathrooms are well designed and big. Almost everyone at the restaurant has the breakfast and dinner buffet as part of a package. The food is plentiful and diverse (Italian night, Indonesian night, French night, etc.), and there is always something that is not bad; the fruit and desserts are surprisingly good. Local artists of the highest quality sell interesting things in the lobby in the evening and the gift shop also has excellent quality souvenirs and local artwork. The people working at the hotel were consistently helpful and kind and tried hard to please.
