Our daughter, who was a missionary in Dar es Salaam last year was told about Uhuru by people she worked with there and made the arrangements for us. We were picked up from the
the bus station by employees of the hotel and taken by van to the hostel. We had 3 rooms for 2 people each, and after we settled in to our rooms went down to the dining room for a delicious full course meal...prepared after our order. The service was gracious, the food delicious and fresh..for extremely reasonable prices. The rooms are simple and comfortable. There is a balcony or terrace off of each room. There isn't airconditioning, but a fan and open windows make it comfortable. There are screens on the windows and nets suspended over each single bed. There is a private bath for each room. There is no TV! The grounds are lovely, and the
staff very helpful. They arranged for us to go on a 3 day safari and to climb halfway up Mt. Kiliminjaro, we were very well cared for and felt safe. It was a blessing to stay at Uhuru...an oasis!
